There will be a memorial of sorts in Central Park at the Bethesda Fountain tomorrow afternoon (2pm) with the Les Mis cast that the public is invited to attend.
Wow, that was even worse than I expected. How do people not understand the concept of hanging out on a fire escape in the summer in the city? Have they never seen friends? (I always assumed theirs was a fire escape, not a balcony since they went out to it via the window.)
The racist comments are indeed horrifying.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
To show how horrific they are. I am horrified by them
IF YOU ARE SO HORRIFIED, DO NOT POST THEM OR GIVE THEM MORE EXPOSURE. YOUR ATTEMPT AT SHEDDING LIGHT ON THE WORST OF HUMANITY, WHICH WE ALREADY KNEW AND UNDERSTOOD, IS ONLY FEEDING THEIR BEHAVIOR.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

It doesn't surprise me (sadly) that there are ignorant/racist/homophobic comments. But it does surprise me that there are a LOT more of those on some of these sites than kind/sympathetic words. I am literally sick to my stomach. It makes me sad this is the world we live in.
On top of the horrifically racist and homophobic comments, I'm also sickened by the crass suicide-suspicion comments. Not only because none of the sources have said a thing about that (therefore none of the commenters should either) but also because... if it were, would that make his death non-tragic? No. It would not. God.
Totally. Or how about the dismissive comments that he must have been on drugs?
What because no one can fall without being on drugs? And even if he were on drugs (which of course there is NO EVIDENCE he was) does that mean he deserved to die or that his death is any less sad?
Crazy accidents happen that result in sudden and shocking losses. And people commit suicide. And people die from drug use. And all sorts of other things happen. And it's all very very sad.
This was an accident. A terrible, terrible accident. No other comment deserves analysis or consideration.
When someone can see a senseless tragedy such as this and make hurtful, hateful, thoughtless troll-like comments, the only thing you can say to such a person is:
This news devastated me greatly. It is so sad to hear someone so talented go so early, especially after making history only recently. The news is truly tragic and I feel for his family and friends through this horrific time. May he rest forever in the garden of the Lord..
I was lucky enough to have seen Kyle's senior showcase at Baldwin-Wallace and it was clear that he was on the fast track to a glorious career. Along with his astounding voice, he could play comedy like gangbusters. He was a very sweet, caring, supportive and goofy guy and extremely beloved by all of his classmates. My heart just breaks for those kids, who over the course of their 4 years in the musical theater program had really become a family. Of course they're all duly devestated and far too young to endure such a tragedy.
Also horrifying are the assumptions that he committed suicide based on his tweet about his last appearance as Valjean. More than one person claimed that tweet was in essence a suicide note. *rolleyes*
Brandyn Day (blue shirt guy)'s speech currently has me in hysterical waterworks. What a meaningful impact Kyle must have had on him. So touching and heartbreaking.
