NBC is apparently pairing up with Zachary Levi to produce and possibly star in a new musical comedy television series. I think Levi is a tremendous talent so, I'm curious to see where this may go.

I swear we already had that exact same premise in a show that bombed a few years ago.

Are you referring to the episode of Scrubs where she had halucinations (my spelling sucks) and thought they were all singing?

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

I'm guessing Mister Matt is referring to Eli Stone, the delightfully crazy show that had Johnny Lee Miller, Victor Garber, and Loretta Devine breaking into song. It also had Laura Benanti, which both makes every show better and somehow dooms it to failure.

I really like Levi and would watch anything with him. Still, with The Cousin Debbie Chronicles and the upcoming Galavant, I'm less-than-optimistic about musical television series.

The article doesn't say this is "straight to series", so I'm assuming it's just part of the many TV pilots for the 2015-16 season and its fate won't be known until next Spring.

As someone else said, Galavant is coming up and I don't know how the success or failure of Galavant will impact NBC's attitude towards this as a possible series.
