According to Cindy Adams, Thursday was Hamburg's last day at the station.

That is such a shame. I feel as if I grew up with her show. Her Sardi's broadcasts were such a treat.A huge mistake on WOR's part, she will be missed.

WOR has no class. How they handled Joan was despicable. Also, a few years ago they unceremoniously killed their Food Talk show, which used to be really fun.

Apparently they are replacing her with infomercials. She had a good 35 year run which is almost unheard of but there was no need to walk her out the door and do the "we'll pack your office and send it to your home" routine like she was being fired for selling crack in the lunchroom.

These people play hardball. No prisoners is their corporate policy.

They will lose viewers over her leaving and the classless tactless way they did it. At least with Sue Simmoms they (NBC) gave her lead time and time to thank people before she left.Letting her go was a big error.

If anyone is interested, Penny Crone is no longer in the news area and is a real estate rep.

Maybe WOR is aiming for a younger demographic. Joan was AARP and beyond.

No, they're not that smart.

Smart would have been a Barbara Walters-style farewell, on a smaller scale, highlights from her 35 years, favorite guests, a ratings bonanza.

But, no, they dumped her for infomercials.
