I did give you specific roles she was in to make her my favorite actress. Thanks for the snarky reply though!

Actually, I was writing my reply when you made your reply, so I didn't see yours when that posted. That was to the previous reference to three Oscar-nominated roles.

My apologies then. :) I actually have never watched Dawson's Creek in its entirety either. Always have meant to, though. Maybe it will be my next TV binge.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. And I did add those movies to my netflix queue, btw, since it was a genuine inquiry (whether people believe it or not, heh).

" it would read so much better without those words, and just stated: "why would she be anyone's favorite actress?"

LOL, haterobics! No, those words are the problem! Anyway, I appreciate your being able to see what I was trying to say!

On this site, you almost have to spell out when you're not saying something to offend someone else.

Otherwise, people assume you are using the default setting.

I thought it was the "?!" at the end of the question that made it odd, as though having that opinion weren't worthy just of asking how one came about it, but, with exasperation, how anyone could?!

I read that ?! more as my confusion than their conclusion.

Right. That's what I mean.

"Why would she be anyone's favorite actress?"

reads differently than

"Why would she be anyone's favorite actress?!"

It's just a good illustration of speech/thought-to-text confusions.

So, to put this thread back on its proper orbit:

"Has anyone attempted the stage door for this? ... How has it been?"

I believe I was the originator of the snark...and I was going to apologize. But haterobics' original post did sound like it was being dismissive of Ms. Williams' career and the poster's opinion of her. Plus, the word 'hater' is part of the name, so...

I'd never call Michelle Williams my favorite actress, but I do think she's terrific. I just found it weird that, after the months of discussion of this revival, and her casting in particular, that someone still wouldn't really know what she's done in terms of work that could be viewed favorably.

Oh, no, he knows, or at least could get that information. He said himself he could have gone to her IMDb page and looked.

He wanted to know n2nbaby's specific favorite roles so he could understand why she could be someone's favorite actress?!

To clarify my point, here's an analogy. Let's say I bought a new car. Let's say it was a Ford Escort because I liked it. Then someone says to me "why would anyone want a Ford Escort?"

That right there, TO ME, is an insult. It implies that there's no reason anyone would want that car. It means there's nothing good about it. It insults my choice.

I hope I'm finally clear, lol.

To answer stage door questions:

Both Alan and Michelle came out Wednesday night to sign only. They asked us to not request pictures (some people still did). They were both extremely gracious and mellow, and were smiling and chatting with everyone who waited.

Linda, Danny, and Bill also went down the line, and were very friendly. The Kit Kat Klub boys/girls jetted off in the opposite direction.

I only asked Alan and Michelle to sign, and Linda ended up signing my playbill just bc I was talking to her and telling her how wonderful she was.

I heard that they did not come out after the matinee.

Jane2, I don't think it's that you're unclear, just that you seem to think there is only one way to interpret the question. And, I agree, if you take that phrase, remove the punctuation and context, and reframe it in an entirely different example, you're right. Cabaret previews

So, could I have been clearer and framed it in a way that couldn't be interpret contrary to my meaning? Sure. But I didn't, but it's certainly been clarified enough by now, heh.

When all you have are the typewritten words on a screen, that's all you have. This is one problem with the current mode of communicating which we, as a society, use now. it gets me into so much trouble!

Nice debating with you!

I'm surprised that it hasn't been mentioned here yet, but Andrea Goss was on as Sally for tonight's show.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
