Hello,
I'm planning to be in NYC from april 24 to 27 and was planning to see a bunch of shows. Problem is the money. I have enough to get 1 good seat for a show and the cheapest for the rest of them. I don't know wich show to invest in, or wich teater has really awfull seats for the cheapest tickets. I plan to see Hedwig, Cabaret, If/then, Les Mis and Once. Any advice or help, because I can't see to be able to make a decision on my own, since I haven't been to any of those teaters yet.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.
And I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense, I usually speak french, please pardon any weird sentence in here.

I think Studio 54 has the worst "cheap seats" out of those, so I would buy a good ticket to Cabaret.

saturday2- your post makes sense :) I'm impressed especially since French is your language (and some posters around here could learn a few things from you). Anyhow, if you are 18-35 years old, sign up for HipTix with Roundabout Theatre, and you can get a $25 ticket to Cabaret when those go on sale. Yes, they are the "cheap" seats but if you're not too tall, the lack of leg room isn't an issue.

I think one problem you may see is that there will be fewer discounts for the time you are there, because it is right after the shows open; but we could be pleasantly surprised!

If you are a member of Audience Rewards, you can get discount tickets now to Les Mis and If/Then with the "points plus cash" option-- about $50 plus 500 points. [If you're not a member, definitely look into signing up; it's free and I've gotten discount tickets to several shows this way.]

Best of luck... and I hope you enjoy your trip!

I'd say buy a full priced ticket for the show you most want to see.

If/Then is at the Richard Rodgers there's really not a bad spot in the theatre.

Aside from leg room I don't get all the hate with the rear mezz at studio 54. I've sat last row (pal Joey) stool seats behind the mezz (assassins), front rear mezz (streetcar), side rear mezz (cabaret a few times) and always had a great view.

Hedwig! You want to be close for that one. It's a really intimate show.

I would pay full price to watch Pippin again, such an incredible experience!
But if you'll be here around-after March then If/Then seems like it will be a great show.
Just my opinion :)

Your question is a little difficult to answer at this time because we don't know about any rush policies for Les Mis, If/Then or Hedwig. It's a safe bet that you'll be able to get rush tickets for Once though so that one is out. Cabaret also has Hiptix which has been said before so that's an option for that show.

Also, check www.broadwaybox.com to see if there are any discounts you can use in advance.

Just a warning for If/Then, I don't think you want to get extremely close to that stage (like the first couple of rows in orchestra). It's set up like Next to Normal so there are a lot of things going on at a second level and you might not get to see everything it has to offer. I think your best bet would try to get the first rows in mezzanine if you're gonna spend the most on If/Then!

@mrgiovinni "Pippin" was the one show last year I paid full price for (well $100 w a discount ) and I don't regret it. Amazing experience.
