Went last night and it was such a FUN night. Every person on stage looked like they were having a blast and that really shone through. I LOVE Jessie Mueller and would probably pay a full price ticket to hear her sing the phone book, but I really wanted to see Norm Lewis sing/perform because I have never seen him on stage before. Such a stage presence. Jessie and him had legitimate chemistry and their duets were way more beautiful and moving than I expected it to be for some
BEETLEJUICE - Pre-Broadway Tryout in DC Nov 1

Holy cow. I was going in with no expectations but I went out LOVING it. So much so that I would 100% pay to see it on Broadway. There were some things I didn’t care for (some characters being portrayed way ditzier than they were in the movie and some raunchy scenes that they stretched out for too long), but everything else was incredible. The set design and costumes are worth it alone.
I ALWAYS go to regional theatre by myself, unless I KNOW my partner will like it. She is not a big theatre person, but I have brought her to enough shows where I know what she likes and doesn't like.
Plus you get all those cool, random single seats with great views.
I've also met some amazing people. I actually got to go backstage once because the woman next to me had a single seat as well, away from her friends because she bought them at a different time, an
I LOVED it. Clara's nudity didn't bother me at all and I thought it was actually pretty tasteful and artistic. When she puts the robe on, it covers everything, and when she has the robe on later she actually has white undergarments on underneath.
The only thing that bothered me just a little was the sound. I don't know if it was because I was sitting on the side where the orchestra was, but the instrumentals sometimes overpowered the singing from where I was at.
I'm not sure if anyone has time, but Signature Theatre does provide rush tickets as well as student, educator, first responder, and military discounts.
My friend and I did the rush for their production of Gypsy and we sat on bar stools, but the theatre is so small it did not matter one bit! That was a bit ago, though, so I'm not sure how they are doing rush for this show.
JBC3 said: "Elder can sing and is handsome, but his acting is far weaker. That was very problematic with his George. Hopefully he has improved or will do better with Giorgio."
I 100% agree. I was deeply disappointed in his George, thought it was just because I saw it early in the run, came back later in the run and was still disappointed. The videos of him for Passion seem really beautiful, though, so I am going to keep an open-mind! I will be going tomor
I recently saw Skintight and there was this older woman who's cellphone kept going off almost the ENTIRE time. It was not a ring, more like a message tone, maybe? She literally just sat there and ignored it even though everyone around her was staring at her and even though a woman in front of her turned around and told her to turn it off.
And then the inevitable Siri moment happened from a different person where I guess they accidentally
Had a ticket for opening night before it got cancelled! I'm looking forward to this, if only because I liked Drew Gehling in Waitress and Mamie Parris in On the Twentieth Century. Also, Sherri Edelen makes my heart happy... she is a terrific local performer. I saw her in a local production of Gypsy and absolutely fell in love with her acting.

The only person out was Austin Scott as Hamilton. I was initially very disappointed that he was out, but Edred Utomi was fantastic.
A newcomer to the cast this week was Bryson Bruce who is now Lafayette/Jefferson. I wasn't sure how he would be seeing as though he just started on Tuesday. No worries - he was wonderfully delightful. I liked his characterization for
Disclaimer: I came to this show having extremely limited knowledge and preconceived notions about Carousel. I am not the biggest fan of the classics, but I admire Jessie Mueller and Joshua Henry so I wanted to push that aside to see this production.
I loved it. The dancing was phenomenal and often brought me to tears. It was refreshing to hear Jessie Mueller and Lindsay Mendez use notes that I am not accustomed to hearing from them. And Joshua Henry was everythi
My friend and I rushed this past Saturday and got there at a little after 6AM (we drove in from Virginia) and were the first in line for a good 30 minutes to an hour. We got tickets for the evening showing.
We received "rear mezzanine" seats, but could see everything perfectly. The rear mezzanine was actually quite empty as well so we were able to move around a bit and have space to ourselves.

People started joining me in line at 6:30, and that seemed like the first person for Carousel as well! We still ended up being one of the longer lines, but eventually the line grew pretty large for Carousel as well. Only two people for Dear Evan Hansen across the street. A person came for Ice Man Commeth around 6AM, but others didn’t join him until later as well. I’m actually glad we got there an hour before everyone because it seemed like after 6:30 is when everything picked up pretty fast.

I want to say the majority is from London. My partner collects patches and she asked about a Slytherin one and they said it was being shipped from London ASAP.
Is anyone wearing House Robes to Cursed Child Mar 27

When I went, there were a TON of people in robes, dresses with Harry Potter on them, tons of Gryffindor scarves, etc. and no one seemed to act above anyone else.
The only thing I saw was a few people who got pretty drunk from the wine slushy.

Saw Part I last night and all I can say is... fricken magical. Everything seemed perfect to me. The timing was incredible on everything and the personalities everyone had was brilliant. The show had incredible pace and they knew just where to enter certain things to keep the audience engaged. My partner and I were speechless at the end. I can’t wait for Part II tonight.
The best part about this experience has also been the staff in the lobbies. Everyone was high spirits last nigh

^Thanks for that update! My partner and I are planning to rush next Saturday morning, but she knows the drill when it comes to me rushing shows. Get there super early and wear tons and tons of layers. I’ve been wanting to see this since it came out!
Broadway fans who cross boundaries Jan 20

I don’t mind people are obsessed with the show itself, it’s the people who are obsessed with just ONE person in the show and get insane over every single little thing they do and just completely disrespects everyone else and the show they’re in.
I love Kristin Chenoweth, but holy cow her obsessed fans TERRIFY me. I saw her at Carnegie Hall, figured we might as well stage door because at first no one was around. Until her obsessed fans came. That was my last stage door experience. I

Sorry if this has been asked, but how long is Colella in the show for? We are doing a Broadway binge late March and I’m seeing this show if it’s the last thing I do!
