Does she have the longevity for this role though? I feel like it's been proven that she has the notes, and the voice, but I don't see her being able to to sing the score consistently eight times a week. I don't really think she has the technique.
She'd only be doing 6 shows as they have an alternate!

I guess I could suspend belief and see her as an overweight Evita. I agree she has somewhat of a shrill voice, but I don't really like the musical that much anyway so who cares.. BTW, the person who said "I know that she said she's interested" REALLY? I mean, when is the last time she did a Broadway show? Would be great if she said, "Nah, I'd rather sit in my apartment"
um Eden Espinosa would be a BEAST as evita. We all know she has the voice and stamina to do it.She played elphaba for a long time so it would probally be second nature for her to do eva 6 times a week. Her voice totally fits the part and she is totally HOT as hell!.Just imagine her belting out "he supports you,for he loves you..." in a new argentina...Those notes would be out of this world!! someone get that girl a blonde wig!!!
If by her voice totally fitting the role, you mean the role needs to be sung shrill and piercing to a point where ears bleed and people exit en masse to hear the sweet sounds of NYC traffic, than yes. Her voice would be perfect.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
Please let it be anyone other than Eden. Jackie Burns mentioned she wanted the part twice on her Broadway.com Show People interview. She would be a better choice by miles, if we are picking from different Elphabas.
While I appreciate Eden's power and push, she wouldn't be right for the part. To put it mildly, they built the entire ship around Elena. It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to try to fit Eden into the production.
Actresses like Natalie Cortez or Bianca Marroquin fit the mold a bit better. So if Christina DeCicco doesn't take the part full time, I'd start thinking along those lines.

I think Eden would really please the Patti fans. She certainly draws vocal comparisons to the original Broadway portrayal of the role. I've been a fan of hers since "Brooklyn". I think she'd be great! I'm still partial to Anneliese Van Der Pol though, would kill to have seen her performance when she was young! Go Eden! And she's hot, that overweight comment was inappropriate, let's keep it to the talent!
I think she's great and I would totally go see her! She's got an awesome voice and range and power too! I'm sure the music director would work with her to perfect her vocals for the show. She'd be awesome.
"They should bring back Cameron Wade to do the show.SHE WAS A BEAST"
I could be mistaken but isn't she the one that came across like a tween and was in the tour around 2005? Never saw her live but in a YouTube video of "Rainbow High" that might still be up, she sings it well and hits all the notes and everything but she looks and sounds as if she's straight out of middle school and it looked ridiculous.
However, she is very talented and I wonder how she'd come across these days now that she's older.
Eden as Eva? Are you crazy? In these spoon-feeding, "authenticity" obsessed, theatrical snubbing, clueless times Eden would never be cast because her background is Mexican American and not full-blooded Argentinian.
I think she'd be great but unfortunately audiences will soon be trying to dig up the real Eva's mummified corpse for the next revival. Rumor has it that just some spit and polish and she will look just as she did the day she croaked.
