That was the nomination this morning that made me the happiest! She was so good in it, just wish the show was nominated over Leap of Faith so she could've performed.
Congratulations :). It must feel so good to be her right now. Her career seems to have been progressing exponentially lately. I hope that she will return to the Broadway stage soon in a successful star vehicle.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I am very excited for Laura. She has come a long way since GREASE: YTOTIW on NBC... she has truly made a career for herself that is only going to continue progressing with new characters to discover. She is truly a talent. Really wish this show was nominated over LEAP OF FAITH because then Jeremy could perform with Laura, regardless of whether he was nominated for NEWSIES or B&C.
THRILLED for her! Her career has taken off recently, and I'm sure this is a pleasant surprise for her after how short the run of the show was. Even though it's for NEWSIES, exciting to see her & Jordan both nominated this year.

I remember after the first preview of Bonnie & Clyde my first post on here was that Laura Osnes will win the Tony for best Actress in a musical! She's got what it takes!
I'm so happy for her! (And JEREMY!! AND Frank Wildhorn!! and everyone involved in ONCE!)
What are the chances Laura Osnes could perform "How 'bout a Dance" at the Tony Awards? B&C wasn't nominated, but neither was the Legally Blonde tour. It would be a great way to showcase the score of B&C and her performance.

SO thrilled for her. I still renember on the preview thread where no on though she would get nominated! So unexpected, but she really deserves it. Too bad Bonnie and Clyde didn't get nominated over Leap of Faith.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
Congrats to Laura!!!! It's great to see someone so classy, talented and deserving be nominated. It has been such a pleasure to have followed her career since her first performance on the Grease reality show. The ways that she is developing her talents and her career are simply exemplary. So wonderful to see great things happen to a great person. You go, girl!
I'm very happy for her, but it is sort of bittersweet for me. She is one of the most talented singers and actresses right now on Broadway and she is a very classy and down-to-earth person. This sort of makes up for her being snubbed last year for playing Hope Harcourt in 'Anything Goes', but I really felt that she deserved a nomination more for that role instead of her role in 'Bonnie and Clyde'.
I remember last year when the nominations were announced some people thought she was robbed by not being nominated for Anything Goes. I recall saying that it wasn't her year and 2012 would be. I'll have to try to find that thread later.
