Love Hadestown! Saw the show several times, enjoy both albums and am very eager to see the Broadway production. Absolutely hated The Great Comet the one time I survived sitting through the entire show. Would never consider listening to The Great Comet music again. They are not comparable.
My personal trigger warning is that sign in the lobby of the theater that says “NO food inside the theater.” In fact, just last weekend I didn’t realize that I had a speaking role in the show that I was attending. After 5 full minutes, an entire scene, the woman behind me was unsuccessful in gaining entry to her candy bar. She was determined to get into it! That’s when I had enough. Making full eye contact with her I said out loud, so that everyone in the vicinity coul
I'm not ashamed to admit that I am one of those who love CATS but every time I see a post about this movie I keep saying to myself.... WHY? Stupid. Unnecessary!
Forgot to include in my prior post: over the years, with the rise of the eBay selling, the signatures I've collected went from actually being legible to a 2 letter scrawl. Now that it is merely a scrawl: "oh yeah if you squint your eyes and tilt your head...Yup that is her signature!" - I've really lost interest. Why waste the time if now you come home with some scribbles.
I am now 46 and have been attending Broadway shows for the past 30 plus years. My parents would take me once in a while. They took me to my very first Broadway musical which was Peter Pan with Sandy Duncan and Christopher Hewitt when I was in second grade. After the show they took me to stand at the stage door with the mobs of people waiting for them to come out and sign. I remember that my father took my program out of my hand to hold over all the other heads because I was both too short and
A thought to ponder... if this were a glowing review from these 2 men would people be reacting the same way? Bitchy it may be it is their opinion and we all know: Opinions are like A-holes...everyone has one.

HA haterobics...I would have LOVED Harry Potter and the Cursed Child twice as much if it were half as long. A full day in the building, 2 tickets purchased after fighting the masses for a discount code and waiting months...it was well done but just long and drawn out. Felt more used that I got suckered into paying for 2 tickets to attend one full story.
LOVED the NYTimes review quote! “The adapters of this “King Kong” seem to have two stories they wanted to tell. One is a morality tale about the evil of trapping a living being in a cheap entertainment scheme. To judge from my own misery in the audience, I’d say this is a theme they mastered.”
BUT we completely anticipated that much of the show was unfortunately weak. I really did enjoy the show but again for the exact same reasons others are also agreeing
Although the reviews on here are not glowing - and I agree as well - King Kong for the puppet performance in my opinion is worth the price of admission. Unlikely that this will ever tour specifically because of the size (weight) of the puppet.
Attended the matinee performance on Saturday, October 27. Although I didn't hate it I certainly didn't love it either. I always ask myself a bunch of questions to see how the answers compare:
1. Would I buy this recording and listen to it again? No, I didn't enjoy the music.
2. Would I recommend this to family and friends? Yes, with the explanation that this is a spectacle (the puppet) with very dry periods (the story). Takes a LONG time to get to the puppet which is
No one knows the maturity level of your child better than you do. Before you attend the show, as the parent of an 8 year old, I would recommend that you are 100% familiar with the plot, emotions and every minute detail so that you are prepared to discuss it at length. Things that we take for granted can trigger questions we would never fathom giving a second thought. If you are prepare and want to engage then by all means go for it!
Anyone else going to Mount Olympus in November? I decided to go...curious if anyone else is too.
Mount Olympus is performed without intermission, for 24 hours straight, allowing audiences and performers share a vivid, emotional connection. The outside world is shut out, and time plays a leading role. The performers wake and sleep on stage, and rest areas will be set up in the NYU Skirball lobbies for audience members who wish to nap. Coffee, food, yoga, Tarot readings, relaxation activ
STANDING ROOM announced so that more can see this production before it closes! This is SO worth it if you have the time to get there. You won't be disappointed.

They are VERY responsive on Facebook. I brought your message over to them about wishing this to be shown on PBS. They responded promptly: "We'd LOVE to do something like that, but have never really explored the option! Something to look into in the future for sure! There is something so magical about creating ephemeral art and we're so glad you could be apart of i
Was it worth the time, money and energy to travel to see this...YES! YES!
I didn’t have tears running down my face like this when I saw the original production on Broadway years ago.
The environmental aspect of sitting in the front row ON the dock within arms reach of the “passengers”, watching the dock pull away as the ship launched, the various levels of the ship separated by class, the lighting and the deep bass vibration shaking us as the iceb

I know they're acting and hopefully safety precautions are in place but I feel as though I'd be uncomfortable watching that. It's one thing to see it in the movie and know the actors were being looked after. It's another to see it live. Not to mention they're recreating a scenario that people actually lived through a

I am nervous too! I am flying from NYC to see this and will only be spending overnight specifically to see this performance. Flying home the next morning. Miss Saigon was SO amazing two years ago that I decided to try my luck with the weather again for Ti
