If Audra is indeed out, Alicia Hall Moran is on for her.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Audra and Will wanted to hit up the after Christmas sales.
I bet he is out of Priscilla today too.
I think I saw them at Macy's trying on Uggs.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Just returned from the matinee. Great TDF seats - 5 th row orchestra. The orchestra was mostly full with a few empty seats. No idea re upstairs.
Audra's understudy, Alicia Hall Moran, could not have been better.David Alan Grier almost stole the show as Sporting Life. The rest of the cast was first rate. Even if she had been there, the best one in the show was Norm Lewis
His Porgy was sympathetic & his powerhouse voice did the score justice. All in all, a first rate production.
SO glad I got to see her Xmas eve. She looked and sounded wonderful. No disrespect for the understudy but Audra was a big pull for me to see the show.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Bess is no cakewalk even when your well, especially when you're singing it eight times a week, so I'd imagine an illness would only make it more difficult. Audra looked exquisite and performed wonderfully at Friday's matinee. According to her Twitter, she expects to be back in the show tonight.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
"I'll cut you, Tracee Beazer!!!!
...Just kidding. I'd never cut anyone." -Tina Maddigan, 9/30/06, WS stage door
