Starting over later in life. I currently work at a theater part time, I write for this site (Haven't yet since the move) am an Exec. Admin. Assistant but really don't want to continue doing that. Was laid off for 2 years until I moved back east. I would love to do something full time that is theatre related. My story is somewhere on the off-topic board. Or...see the movie. Starring Valerie Bertinelli.

Theatre.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

I'm a recent college grad. working toward my MBA. I work for a large investment firm in Manhattan (the bad guys!) and have sadly relegated theatre to more of a part-time hobby of mine. I never made it anywhere that would come close to paying bills in theatre, so I do some local theatre work in my spare time - nothing big.

Yeah, cjguiteau, Jordan will authoritatively comment on just about everyone and everything around here, but he reveals nothing personal about himself except his taste in men. Hell, he wouldn't offer what was the first Broadway show he saw on a thread I started weeks ago, but he was happy to chime in about my posts.

Anyway, I'm a former university theater history lecturer, a former Broadway and OB stage manager, and a former casting assistant for Broadway shows, national tours and a handful of films. Also briefly was a properties master for TV and feature films in the 90s.

Now old and disabled -- but always lovin' theater!

Kind of loving this thread. It's nice to know who you're chatting with.

Can't help but notice that some of the most caustic and contentious regular posters aren't chiming in. Interesting.

No, it's not that at all. Many of us who been members a lot longer than 3 months know a great deal about each other. And none of those people have posted in this thread probably because we save private information for FB or PMs.

Perhaps you don't realize how widely read this public board is.

Plus, this is an OT topic. And several of those people you refer to have shared far greater barometers about who they are by expressing opinions about a variety of socail, political, religious, and personal issues on the OT board. Including Jordan.
