Pulled the trigger. I've now got my Labor Day weekend lineup set:

Something Rotten!

Hedwig

Sleep No More

On the Town

Hamilton

All in two days!  Should be an exciting weekend.

I assume it's best to wear relatively comfortable attire to SNM?  I haven't read this whole thread as I want to be surprised so I just skimmed a few messages in early research.

I'm very excited for this. Now I just have to figure out when I'll have time to eat on Saturday. :)

Ohhh, I'm jealous of your weekend! Great line up.

I've done SNM twice and both times it was an absolute BLAST. I've seen people dressed in nearly everything there. Because you're moving around, I strongly suggest comfortable shoes!

Last time I went, I wore dark jeans, a dressier shirt, and ballet flats. First time I went I was wearing a dress and personally, I was more comfortable and enjoying it more the second.

As for eating that weekend...protein bars on the run!

Thanks!  I'm thinking jeans and a nice shirt and comfy shoes.

Keep in mind that the air conditioning in there isn't very good, so don't wear anything too constricting/heavy. Have fun!

Yup, comfy shoes, nothing too fussy (be ready to run and climb stairs), and it's really hot in there, so stay cool.  BE FEARLESS.  If an actor puts out his/her hand to you, take it.  That's how I ended up alone in a wardrobe, with my mask off, with a frantic woman reciting the opening lines of a novel to me and giving me a locket to "keep me safe."

It's a mind-blowing experience.  I can't wait to go back.

Also yeah, go alone.  You'll be separated from whoever you're with within moments anyhow.  Nothing like having an elevator operator stop at a floor, let you off, and close the door in your face, leaving you all alone.  It's great to recap afterwards with your friends, but it's best as a solitary experience while in the McKittrick.

One more quick note - yes, it's fun to follow the characters to get a linear story.  But it's also really cool to break away from the pack and go where no one else is.  That's how I ended up with my one-on-ones.

Wait, one more thing - you can eat the candy in the candy shop.  The caramels are really good. :)

Damn, now I'm jealous and ready to go back.

The A/C tip is great. I'm thinking maybe I'll stash some yoga pants in my bag for the earlier shows and then change before SNM.

This sounds kind of terrifying and totally amazing. I'm super excited!  And I will be adventurous and explore. :)

I've been 3 times and was obsessed with the show for weeks after my first time, wherein I somehow missed seeing ANY of the scenes involving nudity.

So my one tip is: If you're on the 4th floor, where the alley of shops is, and you hear some of the cast (the witches) hooting and hollering-- follow them!  In general, follow cues from the lights or actor's voices-- if the lights brighten or the actors start grunting audibly, a scene worth watching is imminent.

Oh to be a virgin at SNM again....

Does anyone know why they are only selling tickets through November 1st? Or is that when the block of tickets ends and there will be more soon? I want to go, but it never works out because I always have to get home.  Will finally have an opportunity in January, but am hoping it isn't closing.

I don't think it's going anywhere.  I think they're trying to encourage people not to wait til later to see it (again).

I've been hesitant to check this out, but I think I'm finally going to give it a go and check it out as a birthday gift to myself in October.

That. Was. Everything.

I just put a shirt on a naked stranger during theater. WHAT?  Amazing.

Aside from the main Macbeth core story I have absolutely no idea what happened. I know who Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Duncan, and Banquo were. I have absolutely no idea who anyone else was. It didn't detract from the experience at all but now I want to go back and try to figure out more!

Now a mini-rant. There was this couple I kept running into that was jabbering away whispering the whole time. They were around Macbeth and lady Macbeth a lot so it really detracted from some pretty intense things. It's not a haunted house people. I also think they should ban people from holding hands because it really gets in the way. End rant.

Evidently. But I only know that from going back and reading this board. I really had no idea what was going on except I did figure out the main Macbeth story. But I was totally OK with that. It made the experience more surreal.

When I was there, the person that gives you the intro/rules before you go on the elevator told us that if actors or the stage managers in the black masks saw people holding hands, they would try to separate them. I don't think it's banned, but I do think they'll keep encouraging people like that to split up.

I didn't mind the ones who were off to the sides holding hands. But there were 2 or 3 couples (including the talky talkersons) who were doing it midaction and would get in the way of actors or other patrons. That just irked me. I saw others holding hands, for example, as they watched from the sides of the mcduff bedroom. That is totally fine.

I'm still trying to remember everything I saw. I saw the witches' rave almost at the beginning. That was when I was first like "woah. This is doing to be something."  I'm still not sure what all of it was. Like there was a guy frantically rocking a teddy bear in a cradle and I never saw how he fit into the rest of the story. I think I could see it dozens of times and still not see everything!)

Finally have tickets to experience this next weekend for my Bday! I'm very much looking forward to it, but I'm also pretty nervous about it. :-/

Just wear comfy clothes and shoes (I usually go for jeans and sneakers), and don't be afraid to explore and follow where your instinct wants to take you. I've had the best experiences there that way. It's not scary if that's what is concerning you; no one jumps out at you or tries to scare you, but it is definitely eerie and suspenseful. Sleep No More is one of my favorite things, it's so much fun and different every time.

And as I always say, if an actor offers you her or his hand, put nerves aside and take it!

Thanks guys... I think my nerves come from the fact that I *know* it's impossible to see it all and I'm a little worried that I'll miss out the exciting/cool things going on. :-/

Also, any decent, not-too-expensive restaurant recommendations around the Hotel? I know about the spots inside, but they don't really appeal to all of the people in my group and seemed a little pricey.

It's Chelsea, so most things in the area are fairly pricey unless you go to a diner or something. I like Westville Market, which is on I believe 18th between 7th and 8th. Also the Heath inside is a little expensive but quite nice, there's a live band that plays jazz standards during dinner hours and the atmosphere will get you into the mood of the show.
