I'm down with her inclusion, but there are other really out there choices. I mean, Ashton Kutcher?
Whether you like her or Glee a lot or not at all, you really can't argue that the show is a massive success, and she is the main character and the face of it. The list is about who is making an impact NOW, and she is.

She was cast on a hit TV show. BFD. How is that influential?
What about every other actor on that show?

If we're choosing from Glee, I think Ryan Murphy should be the influential one. He created it, serves as the executive producer, writer, director, and executive music producer.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
It's annoying to me that someone like Gaby Sidibe, who is a real inspiration to big women everywhere and who constantly talks about how important it is to love yourself and to be happy with who you are, was ignored...to make room for Lea Michele.
I don't see that as "influential." And I love Lea Michele. I think she's extremely talented and one of the best things about GLEE. I just don't understand how other people who were overlooked for her.
LOL Calvin, that issue where everybody was selected, right?
I like the show but I am surprised she was picked. I guess they thought they had to pick somebody from the show. I guess they just prognosticate that she has a higher ceiling than the rest of the cast but I would have selected either Jane Lynch or Ryan Murphy.
Also surprised by Sidibe and Mo'Nique getting ignored yet Ashton Kutcher gets selected because he has a lot of followers on Twitter.
Congrats to Lea Michele. I do have to admit thought, my favorite part of this article:
"Meanwhile, Time also included Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt in its special issue, naming the Hills stars two of the least influential people of 2010 in the “morons” category."
What a perfect title for them!

I do love Lea, but, as has been mentioned, I'd think Ryan Murphy or Jane Lynch might be a bit more deserving of this recognition, if they were going to choose someone from Glee :)
Also, it might just be my bias, but I would have liked to see Adam Lambert on there too :/ (no seriously though, if Lea can be on there, I don't see how Adam has been any less influential this year!)
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
She's on the same list as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck (both listed as "leaders"), so you have to read a bit further to see if they were a good influence or bad.
"What can you expect from a bunch of seitan worshippers?" - Reginald Tresilian
Mister Matt My good god! Sarah and Glenn listed as leaders is the biggest effin joke! Glenn keeps hiding behind the guise of being an entertainer for his "okay" on using hate speech. He is infuential to the teabaggers though. As are rush and Sarah. Sarah can't even speak. She thinks "hopey changey" is funny and it makes her sound like an idiot. Bill Maher's clever answer to that question. "fine thanks." lol
Anyway, if any one "character" from GLEE was to be chosen it should have been someone like Kurt. The whole football episode was a huge viral success and they tried to get a message out with that particular episode. Lea Michele? no.
it's all well and good saying that Jane Lynch and Ryan Murphy should be on the list, but Lea Michele is the girl that all the other little girls watch on Glee, "their favouritest programme ever" and they see her singing every week etc. and she probably influences a lot of girls, especially those with a love for musical theatre/singing. I can't see an 11 year old girl wanting to be like Sue Sylvester when they're older, but i can see millions of girls aspiring to be someone like Rachel Berry, a girl with a lot of talent who works hard...? just my two cents.
