Anyone? I've heard a couple of scattered thoughts, all very, very positive.

I may or may not be seeing it tomorrow (not sure if I can use my ticket) but I will definitely be seeing it on Thursday.

It was purely joyous, amazing, and stunning. Sherie bears her soul for everyone. She really lights up the stage. I loved it and count it as one of the best shows I've seen, especially from Roundabout.

I hope it saves this season and takes Best Musical.

Even better than I remembered it to be (saw it three times at Second Stage). They can engrave Sherie's Tony right now. This will sound cliched, I know, but when I wasn't laughing I was crying.

The audience ate it up.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Any changes from Second Stage to now that were noticeable? I adored the show last summer and am so thrilled to be able to see it again!

Nope. It was basically line-for-line the same show.

So good to hear the positive feedback! I'll be seeing it next Saturday and can't wait!

Can/will it take Best Musical, as jaxson suggests?

I sure as hell hope so!

I definitely see it taking Best Actress and Best Book.

She was energetic, funny, quirky, and touching. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
But I am not quite sure I feel it's the "performance of the season" as some of you believe.
I am glad I finally got to see it though. Sherie is such a unique and special talent.

I absolutely loved it! The crowd had an amazing energy (many were friends/comped) and Sherie fed right off them. I did not see it a Second Stage so I cannot comment on changes, but the production was surprisingly put together for such a short rehearsal/tech period. The song choices were brilliant! The show and Sherie are definitely strong contenders for the Tonys.

"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." - Sherie Rene Scott

Saw it at Second Stage, loved it. Saw it on Broadway, loved it more.

EDIT: Not sure if it was just the first preview audience, but the reaction was very positive in terms of applause/laughter. Updated On: 4/20/10 at 12:08 AM

Was it empty?

The show was sold out tonight. It looked to me that the house was completely full from where I sat (front row orch).

The show has a lot of energy and Sherie was great. Like Ljay said she was very quirky. It was a fun and entertaining night. The audience was insane tonight. Very excited.

While I did enjoy myself I certainly don't think it is a lock for leading actress or best musical. I think it has strong competition in American Idiot and CZJ shouldn't be counted out just yet.

i enjoyed myself very much though.

Also the only change I really noticed from Second Stage is that (*spoiler, maybe*) Sherie doesn't go out into the audience to get Eamon Foley. He is wheeled in with the computer screen.

Saw it tonight and loved it, just like I did at Second Stage.

The woman has such a special ability to tell stories and effortlessly move from laughter to tears, then back again. She's such a unique performer. Highlights remain the story about her cousin Jerome and the youtube bit. But really, the whole thing is a joyous 90 minutes. Scott should absolutely win the Tony this year for Best Actress, though I'm not sure she will. Far and away the best performance by an actress onstage this year.

I didn't notice any changes from 2nd Stage, other than the fact the Foley no longer enters from the audience.

The only disappointment, and there was nothing that could be done about it is the fact that Eamon Foley's voice dropped since 2nd Stage. He had to sing the end of Strongest Suit in a different key, which made it slightly less funny. But puberty is inevitable.

Just a fabulous evening, from start to finish. I can't wait to go back again.

Anyone try and Stage Door? I know it's not Sherie's favorite.

I have heard from a couple places that this is a show for people who have seen alot of theater. Would this be a bad show for someone who has not seen too much theater?

My thoughts about it are this..
I saw it at the Zipper when it was in development and then a couple of years ago when it subbed for the "Nothing Like A Dame Benefit"..
The whole entire show was Everyday Rapture (except i can not remember the name it was then....something about Loving Myself...hmm)
It is good...she is great...but it probably not will be in the musical category....More like in the special one person show category like, Billy Crystal, Dame Edna, Whoppi, to name a few...Stritch at Liberty...Bea Arthur etc...thats the category she will be in....dont think it will qualify for a musical....
I LOVE her dont get me wrong, I saw DRS about 12 times just to hear her sing Here I Am....

I really don't think this is a show strictly for people who have seen a lot of theater, by any means. It's not like it's chock-full of insidery-theater humor a la [tos]. I just think avid theatergoers are the only people who will be rushing to see it, as Sherie Rene Scott isn't exactly a household name.

So this is definitely not a show for theater-lovers only. Anyone should be able to enjoy it. It's a lot of fun and it's ultimately very moving. Anyone who appreciates good theater should be able to appreciate that.
