I'm slightly confused. Wasn't T.R. Knight mentioned as in the cast back when he was doing Parade? I could be wrong, but I seem to remember reading that.

TR Knight bowed out. Who is replacing him though? I've heard great things about Victor Garber in the original production and I'm interested to see who will be playing his role.
I wonder how this will do. Shalhoub is not exactly a name. I thought Tucci might be part of this himself which I'd have loved.

Yes, his name was DEFINITELY attached...but things change.

I'm excited: this is my favorite farce! Interesting cast, I'll be sure to be there!

You mean 3-time Emmy Award winner Tony Shalhoub isn't a name?

He's no Catherine Zeta-Jones...but he's a name. MONK was a huge hit.

I saw the original production and Garber WAS amazing -- as was the rest of the cast.

^ Agreed. My mom would see this because of him (and I'm sure many on this board can say the same). Never cared for "Monk" myself.

If my memory serves from seeing this play several years ago, don't the two male leads have to sing -- and sing well at that -- at some point in it?

I'd definitely see it for Shalhoub, even if I hadn't always wanted to see this play.

Yeah for Jennifer Laura Thompson! I'm so glad she's returning to Broadway. She was very underrated as Glinda since she had huge shoes to fill.

as if there wasn't enough competition in the Best Revival of Musical category.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Shalhoub might be a three time Emmy winner and a very respectable actor, but his show was on the USA network and while it was a hit for them, it's not like the show was GREY'S ANATOMY, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, DEXTER, TRUE BLOOD or some of the other high profile shows on major networks. Of course he'll sell tickets but I didn't think he was enough a name to make the show a hit based on his name alone. Hopefully I'm wrong, I'd love to see him, Tucci and the whole production succeed.

This is actually a great cast and I'm so excited to see it. Is there a more underrated actress working today than Jan Maxwell? The woman is an absolute gem, and always steals whatever she's in. I can't wait to see her again, and I'm so happy she keeps finding work. Very talented woman.

Walk into the NBC store at Rockefeller Center and then say Monk wasn't a big hit...

Who cares if he's a name or not? It's not our money invested in it.

I'm excited to see this! I love Jennifer Laura Thompson!

"You mean 3-time Emmy Award winner Tony Shalhoub isn't a name?" That's what I thought! I'm going to see it because of him---loved (and misses) MOnk, but he is a fine actor. And the final episode of Monk got something like 9.4 million viewers---which I'm sure Leno would take in a heartbeat!

It appears that Justin Bartha (the groom in The Hangover) is playing Max.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body
