Is this link working for anyone?
"

There's no content; it's just a landing page, apparently, but the favicon is the show logo, so this has to be the official site... this is mostly for a head's up and FYI so people can access the site when it goes live.

I said this before, but this show has "Starring Taylor Lauderman" written all over it

It was pushed back two seasons in Chicago, and the turnaround from Chicago closingto New York first previews is 5 weeks, leaving VERY little room for tweaks or even rehearsals n between. I'm hoping for the best, but that's a very aggressive timeline for a show that's already been delayed."

Well, one may hope that the two year delay equated to two years of work. But we all know how Broadway works. Womp womp.

^^I'm realizing my message was misleading... when I said "two seasons" I meant from Fall to Spring, not two "theater seasons" i.e. two years. My mistake.

If it was a two year delay, I'd be thrilled because that would certainly mean at least some work. Fall to spring to me screams poor management.

I just really want this to be good, and if they drop the ball I don't want to be saying "if they just used more time..."

Some really great numbers. Oops I did it again, Baby... One more time, I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman, Overprotected and Stronger are already used to great effect in the West End Musical "& Juliet"

Add to those five - "(You Drive Me) Crazy, Toxic, Womanizer and Hold it Against me amongst others, you have quite a few numbers that even the casual listener would recall.

It blows my mind that we are living in a time where, in 6 months, Toxic will (most likely) be performed on not one but TWO Broadway stages every night Once Upon a One More Time to Marquis

thanks for clarifying raddersons. I’m hopeful that the time they DID have was used productively.

I have to admit that I am really surprised, especially since it is apparently not a biographical show where they can insert songs anywhere, but have to fit them at the appropriate moment in the show.

PS -- I was also unfamiliar with the music of the group whose songs were the basis for Head Over Heals. I dont know how much the failure of that show had to do with the songs or

She has probably the equivalent of two greatest hits albums worth of songs and that doesn’t necessarily even count her deep album tracks that are good to great.

As far as the Go-Go’s, they were never as hugely successful as Britney and certainly not for as long and they appeal to a much older audience in a specific demographic which in part explains why the show was never a box office success.

This smells of a disaster. Does it even last until the end of the year?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I think it sounds cute, personally.

Like imagine Rapunzel singing "Overprotected" or Snow White singing "Toxic". SUPER CUTE

I have yet to see a bio-musical that I loved. Some were tolerable. But I think seeing Tina and Jagged Little Pill both on this recent trip clarified for me the problem i have with bio musicals in general. It’s that they force songs to fit the entertainer’s life when the songs have very little to do with that moment of the life that they have to cover and they have to find a song from that artist to make it fit. It seems forced and the dialogue that they use just around the song is pretty forced as well. At least with a original plot they can make the plot work in service to the songs rather than the other way around. That’s why I much preferred JLP on my recent trip. I mean Tina has had arguably a more fascinating and interesting life than Britney and yet they could not make a successful book out of her life that integrated her great songs well. But we’ll have to wait to see. This could turn out to be another Head Overs Heels (which I didn’t see) where the songs reportedly felt shoehorned into the plot.

If the demise of Head Over Heels taught us anything, it’s that we aren’t allowed to have fun.

Heard very mixed things out of the workshop. But......Britney songs + princess storyline just sounds like a fun night out for millennials, suburban moms, tourists, and gays, while bypassing the traditional theatergoer. The fear of course is that it becomes The Cher Show or Summer and gets sunk by middling sales and a high running cost after 6 months.

This actually looks pretty interesting!  Do you think the Marquis would have time to mount a shorter run sometime between now and this, à la the Lunt-Fontanne?  Also, I remember hearing a lot of rumors about the Marquis being a potential home for Beetlejuice after the eviction - where does this leave Beetlejuice now?

Yeah... let's move the show making well over a million dollars a weekto a theatre less than a block away with LESS seats just because...

I'm sorry, but that's just a stupid idea.

This.

Re: Beetlejuice, I think the rumors of it going to the Marquis were just that: rumors. I have multiple friends who work on that show AND at the Marquis and none of them ever really heard much about that other than surface rumors which doesn’t surprise me. It was virtually the only house available this Spring that could house a show of this size so I think people are grasping at whatever strings they could. I still do believe BJ is “working on it” but the Marquis ain’t it.

Thanks!  That's what I thought - I just thought a status update might be good at this point.

Silly question. Wasn’t Beautiful in a similar situation? short turnaround time between its out of town try out in San Francisco and Broadway? Now, I Have zero clue about the work that was done on that show prior to its out of town run. But, that was a successful show.

That said, the short turnaround could mean nothing for all we know. And, I’m not a Spears fan at all and this show is one that has zero interest to me.

It's very funny that anyone thinks you were not. I got it!  I am excited for this one, but it has to be one great show to fill that huge theater every night. It has pretty bad luck, but all it takes is one hit. In my opinion, Tootsie would have lasted longer if it was in a smaller theater.
