Are performances for the weekend cancelled? I just don't understand why they aren't pushing it a week due to Laurie, I assume, being out for the Oscars- unless, there were no performances scheduled for the weekend.

I'll give a mention to TDF for real professionalism- they sent me two e-mails this morning really early in the day and I got a call from them as well. That is how you treat people, take notice theater companies who just cancel shows half an hour before curtain no explanation (obviously sickness or sudden emergency excluded). It made me even more happy to be a member.

They once listed a wrong curtain time for Amelie and when I got the the box office at 7:45 they were incredibly nice, immediately let me pick any other date that worked for me. That's the theatre and the producers, sure, but the next day TDF called and emailed with a partial refund and they renewed my subscription for another year for free. Class acts.

It doesn't necessarily mean that the set is elaborate. It might just mean that there's something up with the lighting or sound or something.
I'd be surprised if there are more than 30 lighting cues in the whole show. Even if the board memory and back-up all mysteriously wiped, I find it hard to imagine it causing such a delay.
I know what it sounds like to me, but I'll resist the speculation.

considering Ms. Metcalf's Awards season buzz I'm not sure why they wouldn't wait till the following week to begin previews. What was the rush? Seems strange.

^^This! Exactly what I was alluding to! I'd be shocked if previews DIDN'T start next Tues. at this point. We must remember this is a Rudin produced show and he's a wiz at playing the blame game when it comes to the reasons things happen with his shows- just say due to scheduling issues we are bumping the start date. Laurie and and Oscars didn't happen overnight. Either this is poor planning and management or something is wrong- which seems doubtful, if not an incredible consequence at this point.

Rushed this morning, so seems the show will go on tonight. $40 per ticket, rear orch. I got there at 9:20 and was the first person there - only 4 other prions behind me when the box office opened.
Count me as very, very excited.

Well I heard the women weren't tall enough, so they had to take a few extra doses of human growth hormone.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Are the seats restricted views? I didn’t know they were offering rush tickets.
Also I am very excited to hear reviews about the show. I have been waiting for an Albee play and with Glenda Jackson, I’m so pumped to see it on Saturday!
