I kept refreshing and was able to get tickets that freed up! Anyone know what the general admission seating is like?

There are still tickets popping up, I grabbed two tickets to two different shows after they were all "sold out" as people release them

Tickets still available for 3-4 different dates, including some all ages shows

Got very lucky around 12:45 today and got a reserved seat. Was hoping for a floor seat but I’m still happy regardless now that I get to see this show. How does reserved seating work? I’m not familiar with the venue and didn’t see a seat number on the confirmation email.

Also, does anyone know how long the show is? I can’t see any info about the duration on the NYTW website. Is it safe to presume the standard 2 hours and 45 minutes with a 15 minute intermission?

The front rows of chairs on all 3 sides are marked reserved, but are not numbered-- would advise going a bit earlier if you want the best seat possible. It's 95 min, no intermission

It’s a really intimate space so it doesn’t much matter where you sit.  It’s 270 degrees and if you are at the front of the line when it opens you can get the center seats. Dave sits at the piano on the far side. If you sit there you might only see the back of his head.

After the show, the cast hangs around and sells their own merch. (Tee shirts, CDs and crap). Dave had a sharpie when I was there.

Saw Ghost Quartet last night. I had a great time at Comet but it wasn't my favorite music. However, this confirms it- Dave Malloy is a genius. Super excited to listen to the CD.

I did find it a bit hard to follow so if there is a snynopsis online I'd encourage all to read that. Going in blind on this one was tougher than expected.

If you want to go in with almost no information (spoiler free) but still be able to really understand the show, just remember this:

The song in the camera shop at the beginning of the show tells you almost everything you need to know about the next hour and a half. Upon re-listening, I was like "duh", but in the moment you may not realize how laid out the plot is from that one song. Just knowing this really solidifies the through-line.

Would love to hear more reports, as I do see it this week. What I’ve read is getting me excited!

I agree with this, and to be honest it may even be worth listening to that song on the cast album before seeing the show, so you can absorb it better.

This is actually a really good idea. Normally, I'm a big advocate for going in blind (I did, and I had a really good time even if I got lost at points), but familiarizing yourself with at least this song is probably smart if you don't like being lost in shows.

On a separate note, I'm going to post here what I posted on Reddit in regards to seating. This was for an all ages show, so I don't know how or when they pass along the alcohol ("Four Friends", I imagine!):

Some advice on seating if you do manage to snag tickets: If you get there early enough to be one of the first people waiting to get in, there are a number of good spots to sit. If you're sitting on the ground, you'll probably get some interaction. Most of the interaction seemed to be in the section where I was (which was the section straight ahead when you walk in, next to the piano where Dave sits)- but really all the people on the ground got something fun to do.

If you have general admission or reserved seating, shoot for the middle for the best view. You'll have to turn your head to focus on Dave and Brent (as they sit at opposite ends of their square), but Gelsey and Brittain stay in the center and face forward most of the time. If you sit on the ends of the seated rows, you may get things to play with as well (dictated by whomever they please, it seems. There was a 9 or 10 year old girl there that was in the middle of the middle and she got quite the attention, lol).

If you don't get the middle, my section seemed good. Gelsey looked our way a bunch, but the glowing red exit sign was a bit distracting at points. Really, the area is so small that any seat is great.

Alright, I’m putting the cancellation line update here, because I can’t find the other thread..

I got on the line at 10:00, with four people getting three tickets in front of me. They got here at 8:00. By 1:30 there were six people behind me (so ten tickets being sought after).

The group of three tickets in front of me got general admission (I think all general admission) at around 2:15 (when Mary Jane started), and I got my general admission ticket a few minutes after. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any of the people behind me in there, so either they only had four, or they had five and everyone else had groups of two.

If people have tickets that they cannot use, please call the box office and release them!

I'm holding 1 $94 ticket for Saturday night in my cart. I can't use it, so I'll release it in a few minutes. If you get on the website now, hopefully one of you will be able to snag it.

I did not see this, but apparently was still the person to snag it. Ghost Quartet to return off-broadway this October
