I was so confused by this, she’s already a known performer. Why does she need BGT?
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

Because her agent got in touch with the producers of BGT and convinced them it would make good TV. There's nothing real about AGG or BGT or any of their sister shows. You think she just flew to the UK for this random ass gig? And I mean, it's all built on a lie. Loren was credited on the soundtrack, she originated on The Voice. It wasn't a mystery that she performed the song.
While all that’s true, we’ve seen/heard of plenty of people who get lucky with a song or a record deal and then their career totally stalls so they use these shows to try to jumpstart. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Plus it’s true that WE know who she is but (and I always use this as a barometer of peoples “fame&rdquo my Mother had never heard of her or that the song was lip synced, so I think it’s fair that a majority of regular people don’t know.
I have to say I didn't know who she was. But I never saw the movie. Several friends and I were talking about this yesterday and those who saw the film didn't realize the actress in the film wasn't actually performing the song. So I think more people than not really have no clue who she actually is.
"I hope your Fanny is bigger than my Peter."
Mary Martin to Ezio Pinza opening night of Fanny.
BGT is getting heat this season for bringing in "famous" acts that already have a career. AGT has always done this. Look up any previous winner or finalists and most have a history. Even the young acts.
