I just can't see how this is going to work or be taken seriously by anyone. But I'm rooting for it!

...It's Meryl.

Like PRADA - It's a fun Summer movie, but with her notoriety it will be taken to a different level.

I think.

Sophie looks so vacant, so... plastic. And vaguely demonic in that mirror photo with Streep.

But the rest looks awesome.

It looks really beautiful, but I don't know how the ABBA song are going to work without the big, colorful lighting used in the stage musical. The songs just don't seem to really fit in the scenery used in the movie.

1. Look how beautiful that water and landscape is in that dock photo!

2. Isn't Sophie one of the ditz-girls from "Scream 2"?

3. WHY is Skye so familiar looking? What else has he been in? Those lips are luscious! (OH! Didn't a member of these message boards use his headshot as their avatar for a while?)

Sophie is played by Amanda Seyfried. "Karen" in MEANGIRLS.

Dominic Cooper of "History Boys" is Skye.

Yeah, I don't think this one will try and hide the fact that it's a musical.

i agree, i LOVE amanda seyfried (the actress playing sophie) and this she's extremely talented and hilarious, but something about her isnt right for sophie (based on the photo's i've seen). Bustopherphantom, you're right, she does look vacant and kind of plastic and almost demonic. i think of sophie as extremely warm and a little quirky and adorable and amiable. but hopefully amanda will prove me wrong when i see the film. i'm sure she'll be good.

and something about the picture with the two of them together at the wedding is so scary, they both have such vacant terrified looks and buggy-eyes. i dont know... i'm SO EXCITED THOUGH

Everyone looks terrific. We don't know what that still is....is that actual filming.......is she looking at the director, who's talking to her......could be anyone of a number of things?

I remember earlier this year when the first pics of SWEENEY were being posted and there was one of Johnny Depp coming out of his trailer in costume and makeup, all these people started posting saying that they weren't going to see the movie because they didn't like the way he looked? WHAT THE F?

I hear that Meryl followed single women Greek island hotel owners around for 6 months prior to shooting.

I don't understand what that means....followed women around for 6 months?

Its sarcasm.

Meryl and the cast were only in Greece for a few weeks in September. That's it. Only exteriors were shot in Greece and interiors were shot at Pinewood Studios in London.
