No need to be a dick towards someone posting their honest thoughts on something. I wouldn’t want to sit through a straight male making jokes about prostate exams, either. And I’m a hoot at parties.
Rent's Legacy & Reputation Today Aug 11

I like many things about Rent, but it has always irked me that it doesn’t state the difference between HIV and AIDS. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there is nothing in the piece that differentiates between the two.
"Hamilton isn’t my cup of tea, but it hardly warrants an F."
Perhapsnot to you. But not everyone on the planet might feel as you do. I knowI surely don't.
And why are you criticizingMuscle? He's simply offering his assessments of shows, just likeeveryoneelse here.
And I, for one, agree withmany of his assessments.

Of course you do, Blanche

You all know Muscle just makes these threads to ruffle feathers by giving well received shows very poor grades. Art is, of course, subjective, but he just loves being a contrarian. Hamilton isn’t my cup of tea, but it hardly warrants an F. And why even include long running shows on the list? Just to get attention.

Funny how people on these boards who throw the word “bullying” around like it’s candy have no problem with with behavior they claim to hate when it suits them.

I don't think the issue here is having a negative opinion about something. It's the attitude being used when stating the opinion, basically saying "I know more than you do" and "Your opinion is wrong". Even if that's not your intention, that'

Why do certain posters make such an effort to try to make others feel ****ty and stupid about their opinions? Nobody could have enjoyed it because you hated it and critics trashed it?

I really like Sutton Foster, but I don’t see her as Rose at all. Audra would make a fascining Rose.
Carolee was apparently in the running to be Bette’s Tuesday cover. I’m sure she’ll get a chance to play it somewhere regionally soon.
I don’t think it’s too soon for a Broadway Gypsy revival. If they could get a marquee name to make it successful, why not revive one of the greatest musicals ever written?
For those sick of seeing the show, there’s always the option of

I bet Davenport closes Gettin (g) the Band Back Together after Opening Night so he can write a book about it closing after 1 official performance.

I would start with The Golden Age classics. This anthology is a must have:
Lin Manuel Miranda’s ass must be tired from everyone constantly kissing it.
"'FOSSE/VERDON' COMING TO FX" Jul 25

I have to cancel mnend FX, a network that used to be aimed at straight white men, for the bold programming they’ve been presenting. With the people attached to the project, I’m sure many non theatre people will watch this. Pose, Feud: Bette and Joan, and Versace have all presenting subjects that the general public may not know about. Kudos to them. This is a great idea for a limited series. Very excited.
Carolee Carmello as Mama Rose in LEGACY Jul 24

Her Donna was a revelation. She managed to bring substance and depth to a show severely lacking in both. Her “Winner Takes it All” is pretty definitive.
I also wish someone would write something new for her. Scandalous is the only star vehicle that’s been tailored around her, and it wasn’t worthy of her talents even though she managed to rise above the material. From Lucille Frank to Kate to Pennywise, she has constantly proven she has versatility and is able to sing anything. She
I found that clip to be plenty manic. And the tempo fits her vocal style perfectly. I think anything faster would sacrifice the nuances in her voice.

It would be nice if they kept the ticket price low for those who can’t afford the crazy prices in Broadway and beyond. But I’m not holding my breath.
You attempt to get into everyone's head, making broad generalizations that people are elitists and followers if they happen to like what you hate. You can never simply state your thoughts on a show. You have to insult everyone who had an enjoyable experience, insulting people's intelligence and ability to make up their own mind about something. People seem to only love Sondheim because they were told to, per you. Fuck the hours of enjoyment that his work has br

You never seem content in simply disliking something. You have to take it further and try to find motives of why someone liked something you didn’t. That feels more like snobbery to me. Not everyone is a lemming because they gravitate to something that’s not up your alley.
