Current Rush/Lottery Status  Jun 29 2010, 08:38:02 PM
The second person wouldn't need the ID
Hair Lottery Recently  Jun 16 2010, 11:06:56 PM
They normally haven't had any lotto loser discounts. The last two rows of the theater are a little under 40 bucks if I remember correctly. Yes, there's interaction in the mezz, especially if it's not very full and you're on the aisle. If you can't get the last two rows of the theater, you'd be better off going to TKTS where it'll probably have orchestra seats for half-off.
TONY Awards Looking For A New Home For Next Year  Jun 15 2010, 09:24:00 PM
I just had my graduation at Avery Fisher Hall and I think it'd be awesome in there, even though it has about half the capacity as Radio City. The acoustics are pretty awesome as well, so maybe it won't suffer from sound problems so much.
Student Rush and Lotto Status Updates  Jun 12 2010, 11:35:57 AM
I was at Promises like two weeks ago on a two-show day. Got there around 10:20 after rushing La Cage first-thing. Managed to get student rush in the mezzanine for the evening show.
Free HAIR tix -- NOT the 500p rush  Jun 11 2010, 02:28:23 AM
I just don't see what this will accomplish. Just sounds like an attempt to make a street team without really "paying" them like other shows would.
LA CAGE review - May 25, 2010  May 27 2010, 09:22:44 AM
I'll comment on the student rush vs balcony question. My friend and I got the first two seats in the left box using student rush and the sight lines are really bad if you're not in the inside seat. You miss a lot of the choreography and staging that happens any further back than center stage. We moved to the balcony for the second act and I'd prefer those seats any day over the boxes.
PROMISES (2) Rush Question  May 26 2010, 10:30:51 AM
There wasn't any wristband system when I went last Wednesday. I doubt anyone will hassle you about holding spots unless one person is holding a spot for eight or something outrageous.
ENRON to close 5/9  May 4 2010, 06:46:13 PM
Everytime I've worked at TKTS it's been listed as 50%.
Adams Family...8 nominations...really?  May 3 2010, 12:33:11 PM
yes.
AI Lotto  Apr 12 2010, 08:44:36 PM
Mark, only the winner has to have a student ID. That's why it always looks so full even though not everyone is allowed to play.
If you thought you were a Broadway fan, this guy will put you to SHAME!  Mar 3 2010, 12:11:59 AM
Jared is really one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. My favorite video blog is of him and his gf singing Side Show when they were making breakfast and noticed they had siamese eggs.
Next fall TDF?  Mar 1 2010, 11:34:02 PM
I did rush this past weekend and got center orchestra seats on the right aisle. I would say it's full view until about the last 15 minutes of the show that takes place further upstage.
Gershwin Stage Door?  Feb 27 2010, 10:00:14 PM
Exit the theater and head towards 8th avenue. It'll be on the left where the parking garage exit is. If you pass the flower stand, you've gone too far.

Devious,

I think when Ryan left there was a need for a 2nd Berger cover.

Hey dshnookie,

I took that moment as an example of "free love" shown through Woof's POV. I'm not sure of its significance, but it is the second time I remember Woof's advances being denied. The first time I noticed it was in "Where Do I Go?" when he offers his flower to Jackie Burn's character and she turns him down.

And for the second part of your question I stole this from http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/126314/

-----

"Facing a dying nation of moving paper fantasy listening for the new told lies" refers to the lies the government told the American people refers to the thousands sent to die to Vietnam and the lies the government told the American people about them that were told through a paper based bureaucracy.

"With supreme visions of lonely tunes" I can only hazard a guess refers to the godliness of man that is often alluded to in Hair and Hamlet, but while we are listening to the government's lies we look for the truth that is found in the beauty of man and in art and song - but the truth is each of us is lonely on this Earth and like Hamlet, we are alone in action and eternally seeking the truth.

The second verse refers to the beauty of man and the unknown equation that is life - Hamlet says "conscience doth make cowards of us all" (in reference to our inability to take our own lives rather than exist with the pain life brings). Instead of saying though why don't we kill ourselves, this poses people as being gods capable of greatness. "I fashion my future on films in space" refers not to "Film" like in a camera but is a more cosmic reference to the thin that creates our reality - this is a much more hippieish belief that we have control over our reality.

------

That's just one person's interpretation.

Hair thread.  Jan 14 2010, 11:20:25 AM
@CS You could probably get there about 30 minutes early and get standing room easily. The show needs to be close to selling out for the box office to sell them to you. I know last Saturday they weren't selling any of the standing room until after lotto was over.
War Vet reactions to HAIR? Spoilers  Jan 12 2010, 09:54:56 PM
I took my parents to Hair on July 4. They both joined the Army just as the Vietnam war was ending, & served for 20 years so they've seen their fair number of "conflicts" and my dad served as a civilian worker in Iraq.

I didn't think it was inappropriate to take them because they both knew what the show was about in context. My dad didn't have the greatest response to burning the draft cards and neither of them enjoyed the "Don't Put It Down". Overall, I think that there has to be some

Hair, N2N & ALNM Lotto/Rush Question  Jan 8 2010, 11:05:27 PM
As always, lotto chances depend on the day you go. For N2N and Hair, it tends to be easier during the week to win than on weekends. Even though it's not the "peak" season, there are still plenty of people playing lottos.

ALNM is rumored to be close if not fully sold out through this month for each of the shows. Considering that there is not going to be any TKTS additions anytime soon, rush is the cheapest ticket, therefore you want to show up at the box office well before it opens to se

What have Lottery seats for Rock of Ages been like  Jan 6 2010, 11:28:05 PM
You also have to factor in that most people have been slamming the Ragtime rush + lotto loser offer & other closing shows this past week.
