What is the current rush status for Promises Promises, The Addams Family and Next Fall? How has lottery been lately for American Idiot and Next Fall post Tonys? I'm planning a trip early July and would like to plan ahead. What time should I arrive to guarentee tickets? Have their been a lot of people trying lottery?

Also.. Has Come Fly Away began to offer any type of rush or student discount?

Idiot is a lottery
I tried last night and their was a lot of people they did $37 boxes after lotto

Adam's family is student rush IDK how it's been(line wise) I do know it's only Tuesday-Thursday and I've heard its not worth the $41.50 rush price

Next fall I did rush a couple months ago and it's whatever's left 2 hours before the show i had no problem getting rush and I hear it hasn't changed much. The guy didn't even ask for student ID

Promises: i hear u need to line up b4 the box office opens o weekends for this 1

I rushed Sondheim on Sondheim tonight- the Mezz was probably only half full (a generous estimate), so us rushers got to move down to the lower mezz. Ended up front row mezz. So that one's super easy to snag a ticket to.

I went to Next Fall 1 hour before curtain on a Wednesday mattinee and there was nothing left, and the guy was really rude (not part of your question, but it really ticked me off). I would try to get there at least 2 hours before for that one.

Still nothing for Come Fly Away, but it'll be on TKTS if that's in your price range.

Has anyone been to the la cage rush lately? My friends and I are planning on going for this wednesday's matinée.

Also, what exactly is the deal with the addam's family rush? Some people have said that it's only tuesday, wednesday, thursday and other's say that's not true. Anyone know what it is exactly? Thanks so much!

What is Hair lotto going to be like this weekend? Also, for La Cage, I was planning on rushing this Friday after we arrive early in the morning by plane...any chance there will still be tickets?

I rushed La Cage and Addams last wednesday with some friends . we got to the Longacre around 9:45 and were about 12th in line..our tickets for the matinee were in box c..pretty good view, we only missed a little bit of the right side of the stage that was directly below our box.
For Addams family you have to show up at the theater 2 hours before the performance to see if there is rush avaliable. We went over around 12ish and asked if rush had been crowded lately..the guy was very rude and told us just to come back at 5:45. We did get tickets, all split up around the mezzanine. However, my friend was all alone in a box so during intermission we moved into her box. My seat in the mezz was pretty far back, but I got a great view of the entire stage, but the box was much closer, I just had to lean a litle to see the whole stage

I don't know much about student rush, but can you do it for any show? How early do you have to show up before the show on a Thursday? Can you rush for Promises Promises?
Any clarification on student rush would help greatly, I really don't know much...

I rushed La Cage a couple of weeks ago - showed up exactly at 10am on a Tuesday, there was no line, and the box seats were perfectly fine.

I also played the Hair lotto this past Saturday, for the matinee, and there weren't even enough people to fill all the seats. It was pretty sad. A lot of us in the boxes ended up moving to the (many, many) empty seats in the front mezz.

The Addams Family student rush is Tues-Thurs only but they also do standing room only (not well publicized) when it's sold out (basically on weekends. Box Office guy told me only try Fri-Sun). I easily got one for Sat night ($25) but warning, the bar you lean on for standing room at the Lunt is REALLY high. I'm 6'1" and it came to my chest so I think if you're below about 5'-3" maybe, it might be too high for you or will be right at eye level.

As for Next Fall's box office, isn't the people there at Helen Hayes always rude? I got similar responses during Xanadu and 39 Steps.

Since Hair is closing this weekend, do you think I will still be able to get a seat for Satuday night? Should I either do the lotto or go to TKTS?

Also: How much are Hair tickets at TKTS? Updated On: 6/24/10 at 12:44 PM

I got a rush seat for Next Fall a couple months ago a little under 2 hours before the show. I rushed The Addams Family last night and got there at about 5:15 (they start selling 2 hours before) and was the 4th one on line and I got a seat in the box. I also got a box seat for American Idiot on Tuesday after losing lotto (that lotto seems to be kind of crazy), and I got a rear mezz rush seat for Promises, Promises on a Thursday night a couple months ago at about 6:15 or 6:30 (though apparently their rush policy is a little strange and it's a crapshoot as to whether they'll actually be doing it at all on any given day). Also be aware that the rush policy for The Addams Family only applies Tuesday-Thursday.

Don't know about the A.I. lottery, but they HAVE been offering discounted tickets for $37 dollars for students. That's what I did for Tuesday- they were pretty decent. Fourth row, off to the right side. You miss what happens off to extreme stage left, but very little does (really, only Tony Vincent's entrance).

Considering rushing either Fela or Lend Me a Tenor for the matinee tomorrow. Has anyone been to either recently? I know I've heard that for LMAT you should be there when the box office opens, but I haven't heard much about Fela rush- is simply showing up 2 hours before good enough, or do people line up earlier?

Thanks!

I didn't rush Promises because I was rushing La Cage, but when I walked by the theater for Promises to buy some water, I saw a few people sitting in front of it (at around 8:15 am on a Wednesday). Better safe than sorry, right?

Since I see stuff about A.I., do they sell the 37 dollar tickets after lottery? And does this happen all the time or just when they don't have as many seats filled?

From what I've heard AI seems to be offering the $37 partial view after every lotto, but the seats vary. A few weeks ago my friend got a seat in the boxes (which are quite obstructed- at least on the left, you miss a lot), and last week we got excellent seats in the fourth row on the right. But be ready to get in line right after you lose lotto because I don't know how many they typically have- we were the fourth group in line when we got ours.

Okay, so maybe I should have one of us stand to get in line or something. Does the line form right in front of the box office? I've never really been in a situation where I had to run over after lottery, because whenever I've done it everyone's won tickets. Do they need the student id for that? And also for regular lotto since my friend will be putting in her name, do we need a picture ID for her to have? Like would a library card be good (ours have pictures)?

EdenIsMyHero, I believe Fela's rush policy is actually 2 hours before.

And I got a box seat for American Idiot on Tuesday night after losing lotto but I was maybe the 5th person in line and I don't know what they gave out to the people behind me...I know a few people in front of me asked if they had orchestra partials but they weren't selling them that night so I guess it depends.

Ok. I'm hoping to go on a Thursday. Maybe Monday even, I don't think it'd be that popular.

AudreyTwoTwo: You always need a photo ID to win lotto to prove you are the person whose name they pulled. You don't need a student ID for the partial view seats. They change up where the line forms daily from what I've heard, but it generally starts in front of the girls pulling the lotto.

For Lend Me a Tenor, I got there 45 min before curtain and was 6th in line. The line did end up pretty long (although it was a two show day). I would suggest getting there 30-45 min early.
