Not surprising, given their low grosses and lack of significant nominations.
This about locks up the Tony for Eddie Redmayne, though.

Another Coram Boy. A highly touted drama goes belly up. A shame as I thought it was an awesome show.

I hated the show and am not at all surprised by this news.
Let's hope Norbert and Marin's next shows are able to showcase their talents.

Yes, as someone mentioned earlier in this thread - CORAM BOY. A hit in London, but played 17 previews and 30 performances in NYC. (another shows I despised by the way)

Posted: 5/4/10 at 7:16pmI just remembered another London transfer failure - FESTEN. It lasted 20 previews and 49 performances on Broadway. I kind of liked that show though...save for Ali MacGraw's bad acting.

This show really suffered from failing the "tourist test" if nothing else. (And I have not read any reviews or seen any other info on the actual production before today.)
Just hearing the title and description of this show people gave the "Why on earth would I want to see a show about that?" reaction. And, being honest, if Norbert and Marin were not in it, and I didn't desire to see everything, I would have never wanted to see it either. West End schadenfreude about American failures somehow played well there, and didn't play well here. Shocking.
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Posted: 5/4/10 at 7:37pmAlthough I thought the play was problematical, the performances were first rate and some of the staging was inventive. I am sorry this didn't do better but I am very glad to have seen it.
