Monday, January 9 through Sunday January 22, 2006

The Department of Theatre Arts, in collaboration with Quest: Arts for Everyone, The Baltimore Theatre Project and The Baltimore Creative Alliance, host movement-based theatre groups of hearing and deaf artists presenting performances that need no signed interpretation. Workshops and master-level classes will be offered. This two-week festival of local and international artists is designed not to exclude anyone who does not rely on spoken language or English for entertainment. For additional details visit the Towson University Department of Theatre Arts Web site at www.questfest.org 

 

AMELIA'S AIR HEART

Amelia's Air Heart is a unique "aerial theatre" performance that combines the talents of actor/aerialist Mara Neimanis and sculptor Laura Shults, both Creative Alliance resident artists. This solo performance explores the inner world of the legendary aviatrix, Amelia Earhart, and the universal experience of navigating location in a mysterious dream of flight. The performance will take place on a 15x15 aluminum plane sculpture and combines visual, theatre and aerial elements.
