As BroadwayWorld previously reported, British actor Albert Finney has passed away at age 82 after a short illness, according to the BBC.

Tootsie is on its way to Broadway bringing a colorful cast of characters to life on stage. Tootsie will open on Broadway on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street) in the heart of Times Square. Broadway preview performances will begin on Friday, March 29, 2019.

Chick Flick the Musical, a new musical comedy with book, music and lyrics by Suzy Conn (Suffra-Jets; The Mercer Girls), music direction by Matt Castle (Found: A New Musical; Once Upon A Mattress), choreography by Sarah O'Gleby(Mythic - London; Associate Choreographer - Disney's Frozen; Kennedy Center Honors), and directed by David Ruttura (Associate Director - Network, School of Rock) will play The Westside Theatre beginning February 21 with opening night set for March 7.Broadway Venture Capital Fund produces with executive producers Richard Frankeland Joe Watson. The cast of Chick Flick the Musical includes: Sharon Catherine Brown (Dreamgirls; Joseph...), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones; Legally Blonde), Carla Duren(Hairspray; 110 In The Shade), Megan Sikora (Holiday Inn; Clueless), with Jillian Louis(It Shoulda Been You; Soul Doctor) and Madison Stratton (Brigadoon; Baby) as Standbys.

On February 18, Manhattan Concert Productions will present a concert performance of Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton's musical comedy The Scarlet Pimpernel at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center. Gabriel Barre (Stage Director) and Jason Howland (Music Director) reunite to lead the cast and creative team in this concert performance of The Scarlet Pimpernel. The performance will feature a chorus of over 200 singers from the across the United States, a professional cast and creative team, and the New York City Chamber Orchestra.

The New York premiere of Sea Wall / A LIFE officially opened last night, February 14. The show was written by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne respectively and directed by Carrie Cracknell, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge. Sea Wall / A LIFE runs through Sunday, March 31.

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that actor and comedian Justin Long will join the cast of the New York premiere of Mara Nelson-Greenberg's DO YOU FEEL ANGER?, directed by Margot Bordelon. Performances will begin at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) on Wednesday, March 13 with opening night set for Sunday, March 31.

#EduHam is a series of HAMILTON Wednesday matinees made available to New York City schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families for the ticket price of only $10. This educational partnership, made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation, is not only providing 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see HAMILTON on Broadway, but provides educational material by Gilder Lehrman to incorporate material from the musical into the American History curriculum.

FIERCELY INDEPENDENT - a new play by Tony winner Kathleen K. Johnson - will be given its world premiere Off-Broadway at the Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam St. in Manhattan), with preview performances beginning March 1 prior to an official press opening March 6.   FIERCELY INDEPENDENT will play a five-week limited engagement through April 7, it has been announced by producer Michael Guccione.

Just last night, Second Stage Theater celebrated its 32nd annual All-Star Bowling Classic. For over 30 years, stars of stage and screen have come out to bowl in support of Second Stage's award-winning seasons and to assist the theatre in its fund-raising efforts.

A 40th Anniversary reunion benefit concert of the 1979 hit Broadway production of They're Playing Our Song was held on Monday, February 11th at 7:30 pm at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th St.). The show starred the Broadway cast members Lucie Arnaz as 'Sonia Walsk' and Robert Klein as 'Vernon Gersch'.

The show pokes fun at a far more polite and benign political world and includes standards such as 'It's a Lovely Day Today' and 'Something to Dance About,' along with Berlin's most famous counterpoint duet, 'You're Just in Love.'

The first revival of Pulitzer Prize Winner Lanford Wilson's Burn This stars Academy Award Nominee and three-time Emmy Award Nominee Adam Driver (Pale), Golden Globe Award Winner and Emmy Award Nominee Keri Russell (Anna), Tony Award Nominee David Furr (Burton) and Tony Award Nominee Brandon Uranowitz (Larry).

Hillary and Clinton, the new play by Tony Award nominee Lucas Hnath, starring award-winning actors Laurie Metcalf and John Lithgow, has found its home on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, previews begin March 16, 2019, ahead of an official opening night on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
