The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) announced today that FUN HOME, a new musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, will open the 2012-2013 season of the Public Lab, a program designed to connect audiences and artists in the process of creating new theater. Directed by Sam Gold, FUN HOME is based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel and will run Wednesday, October 17 through Sunday, November 4 in The Public's Shiva Theater. Member tickets are $12 and are on sale now. Single tickets, priced at $15, go on sale Tuesday, September 18.

James Feddeck, beginning his fourth season as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra, leads the ensemble in concerts at Severance Hall that open with Orchestral Excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn. Cleveland Orchestra Principal Bassoon John Clouser is soloist in Mozart's Bassoon Concerto in B-flat major, K.191. After intermission, the program continues with the Love Scene from Hector Berlioz's Romeo and Juliet. The program concludes with Maurice Ravel's Suite No. 2 from Daphnis and Chloe. Performing with the Orchestra in the Ravel suite is the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, prepared by Cleveland Orchestra Director of Choruses Robert Porco and Assistant Director of Choruses Lisa Wong.

When the Huntington Theatre Company brings David Cromer's landmark production of Thornton Wilder's classic Our Town home to New England this winter, local residents will have the opportunity to become Honorary Mayor of Grover's Corners for a day. Huntington Trustee Judi Krupp and her husband Douglas have issued the Make Our Town Your Town Challenge and will match all new and increased gifts to the Huntington's Annual Fund dollar for dollar up to $50,000.

Stages Theatre Company (STC) launches its 2012-13 season with the world premiere of "Duck for President" (a New York Times #1 bestseller) by Doreen Cronin, opening Sept. 21 at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. "Duck for President" directed by Marilee Mahler is a barnyard romp featuring Charles, the irresistibly funny duck, who decides to run for president. The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced nominations for the 2011-2012 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to an enthusiastic crowd of patrons and theatre industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA. The spacious lobby allowed guests to enjoy drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate their colleagues. Guest announcers, Atlanta's own funny men Bryan Brendle, Bart Hansard, Tony Larkin, Aurora Theatre artistic director Tony Rodriguez and Scott Warren shared the list of nominees while playfully riffing on the 2011/2012 Atlanta theatre season.

DREAMCATCHER REPERTORY THEATRE, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, will present the world premiere of a new musical, THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
