BAM presents the New York premiere of Theatre de la Ville's production of Ionesco's absurdist classic, Rhinoceros, directed by the Paris-based company's artistic director, Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota. Both the company and the director are making their BAM debut. Written in 1959, the play is a satire on social conformity and a commentary on fascism

On Tuesday, Oct. 16, the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company is sponsoring a day-away at Peddler's Village, located four miles from New Hope, Pennsylvania. The bus will pick up passengers at two locations: Bayshore Mall behind Big Lots leaving at 7:30 a.m., and the Cape May Court House Pier One Imports at 8:00 a.m., with an arrival at Peddler's Village around 10:30 a.m. Included in the cost is the roundtrip bus fare and lunch at the Cock and Bull Restaurant, where choices of entree are Chicken with Cornbread Stuffing or Beef Burgundy. The bus leaves the Village at 5:00 p.m., returning to the two stops: 7:00 p.m. at Cape May Court House and 7:30 p.m. at the Bayshore Mall.

The producers of the Broadway production of the Academy and Tony Award winning play The Heiress have just announced that the box office at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W. 48th St. NYC) is now open and preview performances will begin one day earlier on Saturday, October 6 at 8 p.m.

The University of Montana School of Theatre & Dance is pleased to offer The Arabian Nights,an ambitious collection of ancient stories from the Middle East as reimagined by one of today's most provocative theatre artists. The Magnet Theater presents The Fourth Annual New York Musical Improv Festival from October 4-7. Over 100 performers from as far as Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oklahoma City, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Washington DC and as close as Broadway, NYC will converge on the Magnet Theater stage to create fully improvised musical performances - ranging from traditional musical theatre fare to adrenaline-pumping rap battles.

The box office will open for the Broadway revival of GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) on Tuesday, September 18th at 10am. GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS will begin its limited run with previews on Tuesday, October 16th and an official opening on Sunday, November 11.

Ghostlight Records will celebrate the release of the Original Cast Recording of Barry Wyner's new musical CALVIN BERGER with a concert at Joe's Pub the evening before the release - next Monday, September 24, 2012 at 7pm. Happy Birthday, Constantine Maroulis! 'American Idol' finalist Maroulis earned a 2009 Best Actor Tony Award nomination for portraying Drew, an aspiring musician with pipes of steel in the Tony-nominated musical Rock of Ages. He originated the role in the Off-Broadway production at New World Stages in 2008. He has also appeared on Broadway in The Wedding Singer, Off-Broadway in Jacques Brel..., and the national tour of RENT. He is starring in the Broadway-bound national tour of Frank Wildhorn's Jekyll & Hyde in the dual title role of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde with recording artist Deborah Cox (Broadway's Aida) as Lucy.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series debuted a new concept called "Portrait of an Artist," featuring actor/director/painter Steve Bakunas. The multi-talented artist conducted an intimate interview with actress Linda Lavin, while painting her portrait on the historic Birdland stage. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the West End production of Blood Brothers, which has been running at The Phoenix Theatre for almost 24 years was set to close on October 27. Now, according to Whatsonstage.com, the show will now close on November 10.

Directed by Tony® Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony® Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on Wednesday, March 28, with an official opening night on Sunday, April 15, 2012. The National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, will play a strictly limited 12-week engagement from now through November 25, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.
