Kinky Boots, the highly anticipated new musical that brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), will begin preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 4, 2013. Previews began on September 14 for the RTC presentation of Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge as "Cyrano" in a new Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac. Clemence Poesy will make her Broadway debut as "Roxane" and Broadway veteran Patrick Page will play 'Comte De Guiche.' The show will open officially on October 11, 2012 at the American Airlines Theatre and run through November 25, 2012. BroadwayWorld UK was invited to Hodge's home for an exclusive shoot at which Hodge and designer Barrie Gower fitted his iconic Cyrano nose for the very first time. Margot Harley, co-founder and Producer of The Acting Company has announced the appointment of Ian Belknap to the position of Artistic Director. "We're a Company of young actors - founded forty years ago with the young Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers right out of Juilliard - and it is appropriate that we begin our next 40 years with a vibrant young talent as our artistic leader," said Ms. Harley, who moves from Producing Artistic Director to Producer. John Houseman, Alan Schneider, Jack O'Brien, Michael Kahn, Gerry Gutierrez, Zelda Fichandler, Ms. Harley and now Mr. Belknap complete the list of impressive talents to serve as Artistic Director of The Acting Company founded in 1972 and oft-considered the leading nationally touring repertory theater in the country.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will continue its Fall 2012 season with the return engagement of Tony Award-winning actress and singer BETTY BUCKLEY. In an exclusive four-week run, Ms. Buckley will premiere her new collection of songs "The Other Women: The Vixens of Broadway." She will perform highlights from some of Broadway's most popular shows, but will celebrate the second female leads, who have introduced classics like "When You're Good to Mama" (Chicago), Another Suitcase In Another Hall (Evita), "I Know Things Now (Into the Woods), "Ribbons Down My Back" (Hello, Dolly!), "Whatever Lola Wants" (Damn Yankees) and "The Miller's Son" (A Little Night Music). Ms. Buckley - who will be joined by Christian Jacob on piano, Tony Marino on bass, Vic Juris on guitar and Todd Isler on drums - will also feature a selection from her new CD Ah Men! The Boys of Broadway, from Palmetto Records, which is based on last year's acclaimed Feinstein's show. "The Other Woman: The Vixens of Broadway" will run from October 2 - 27 at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Today in 1989, the first Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd opened at the Circle inthe Square Theatre, where it ran for 188 performances. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a 1979 musical thriller with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and libretto by Hugh Wheeler. Set in 19th century England, the musical tells the story of Benjamin Barker, alias Sweeney Todd, who returns to London after 15 years' transportation on trumped-up charges. When he finds out that his wife poisoned herself after being raped by the judge who transported him, he vows revenge on the judge and, later, the whole world. He teams up with a piemaker, Mrs. Lovett, and opens a barbershop in which he slits the throats of customers and has them baked into pies.

The producers of A Christmas Story, The Musical have announced that Dan Lauria will star as radio icon Jean Shepherd in the production when it arrives on Broadway at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for its November 5 - December 30 engagement. Last seen on Broadway in the title role of Lombardi, Lauria is best known to television audiences around the country for portraying fathers, including dad Jack Arnold in the long running series 'The Wonder Years,' and his current role as dad Jack Sullivan on the TBS comedy 'Sullivan & Son." (Peter Billingsley, the film's original 'Ralphie,' is a producer of both A Christmas Story, The Musical and "Sullivan & Son.")

The National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, will play a strictly limited 12-week engagement from now through November 25, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Hamish Jenkinson, The Old Vic Tunnels' Artistic Director and Douglas Mclannet, its Administrative Director, flew in from London to attend the Sept. 6th premiere of "Damascus Square" at the United Nations. In front of a VIP crowd of Ambassadors, producer Richard Frankel, Ira and Inge Rennert, among others, Hamish took the stage post performance and said that the Old Vic Tunnels is committed to staging "Damascus Square" in the coming season.

Legally Blonde's Sheridan Smith stars in the Old Vic's production of HEDDA GABLER by Henrik Ibsen, in a version by Brian Friel directed by Anna Mackmin. The production opened on 12 September for a run until the 10th of Novemeber.
