Falcon Theatre Holds Auditions for EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL, 6/15-16

The Falcon Theatre will hold auditions for their upcoming production of EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL on Tuesday, June 15th, and Wednesday, June 16th, at 7 pm. The auditions will take place at the Monmuth Theatre at 636 Monmouth Street, Newport, KY. The production will run from October 22nd to November 6th.

When Kinan Valdez, the producing artistic director of El Teatro Campesino (ETC), began planning El Teatro's 2010 season, he was inspired to use the working-title 'Raices/Roots' because many of the pieces this season are classic works-or inspired from the classic works-created in the beginnings of San Juan Bautista's world-renown, all original, theater company. At the same time, Valdez is also creating new works to add to the company's artistic arsenal. The newest work created by Valdez is ‘Corridos!!! Tales of the Mexican Revolution,' which begins June 18 at El Teatro Campesino's playhouse in San Juan Bautista.

Broadway veteran, Capathia Jenkins, and songwriter and musician, Louis Rosen, bring their concert, 'The Ache of Possibility,' to Northwestern University's Evanston campus in from June 25th to the 27th. As part of the 2010 Summer Music Theatre Festival at the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University, their three performances will take place at 8 p.m. Friday, June 25; 8 p.m. Saturday, June 26; and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, in the Josephine Louis Theater, 20 Arts Circle Drive. Mercury Baroque Tour Europe Staring 9/18

Mercury Baroque will become the first Houston-based orchestra to tour Europe in nearly 10 years when it reprises its popular production of Lully's opera Armide in Paris in September, 2010. The Paris production of Armide will feature the same cast and musicians as Mercury's previous production in Houston in May of 2009 and also marks Mercury Baroque's first European performances since the ensemble's inception 10 years ago. This special production of Armide is a unique collaboration between Mercury Baroque's Artistic Director Antoine Plante and renowned Stage Director Pascal Rambert, whose Theatre de Gennevilliers will host the performances. Armide stars Isabelle Cals in the title role, Zachary Wilder as Renaud, and Sumner Thompson as Hidraot/Haine. Performances begin in Paris on September 18th, 2010.
