The Civilians (Steven Cosson, Artistic Director), the award-winning New York-based theater company known for projects investigating real life topics, presents Let Me Ascertain You: Occupy #S17 on September 17 at Joe's Pub. The cabaret will focus on the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, and will feature monologues and songs crafted from interviews with activists conducted by Civilians artists throughout the past year. The one-night-only performance in The Civilians' entertaining and thought-provoking style will illuminate many of the diverse individual voices behind these large-scale protests, examine how this dynamic call to action has evolved, and explore what its future holds.

Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company have announced the regional premiere of the Broadway hit The Mountaintop by Katori Hall directed by Jasmine Guy. This gripping re-imagining of the events the night before the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr will star Danny Johnson (What I Learned in Paris) as Dr. King, and Demetria McKinney (Tyler Perry's House of Payne) as Camae. The Museum of Modern Art will show Christian Marclay's groundbreaking video installation The Clock (2010), from December 21, 2012, to January 21, 2013. Winner of the Golden Lion award at the 2011 Venice Biennale, The Clock is a cinematic tour de force that unfolds on the screen in real time through thousands of film excerpts that form a 24-hour montage. Appropriated from the last 100 years of cinema's rich history, the film clips chronicle the hours and minutes of the 24-hour period, often by displaying a watch or clock. From the legendary to the obscure, The Clock incorporates scenes of car chases, board rooms, emergency wards, bank heists, trysts, high noon shootouts, detective dramas, or silent comedies.

Materializing 'Six Years': Lucy R. Lippard and the Emergence of Conceptual Art, the first exhibition to explore the impact of the feminist writer, curator, and activist Lucy R. Lippard on the Conceptual art movement, will be on view at the Brooklyn Museum September 14, 2012, through February 3, 2013. Using Lippard's influential 1973 book Six Years, which catalogued and described the emergence of Conceptual art in the late sixties and early seventies, as a critical and chronological framework, the exhibition illustrates the dynamics of Lippard's key role in redefining how exhibitions were created, viewed, and critiqued during that era of transition.

On Thursday, September 20th at 8 pm, Ballets with a Twist will dance at XL Cabaret to benefit the True Colors Fund, an organization co-founded by music, style and cultural icon Cyndi Lauper in support of equality for all and to bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness. The nightclub has donated its cabaret space for the event, and Lauper will be on hand for an intimate performance of "True Colors."

The Theatre School at DePaul University's Showcase Series of Contemporary Plays and Classics presents SPRING AWAKENING, book & lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, based on the play by Wedekind, with musical direction by Mark Elliot, and directed by Damon Kiely. This rock musical premieres on Friday, September 28, and runs through Sunday, October 7, 2012, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre.
