During the week of Oct. 7, 2019, “Live with Kelly and Ryan” posted gains over the prior week in both Households (+5% - 2.1 rating vs. 2.0 rating) and Total Viewers (+1% - 2.735 million vs. 2.704 million), while holding even in Women 25-54 (0.9 rating). The program hit new season highs, notching its best performance with Households since the week of June 17, 2019, and with Total Viewers since the week of May 27, 2019.

The CBS Television Network announced today that it has rewarded all five series from its top-rated freshman class with new production orders.

The Ojai Film Festival honors the late Bill Paxton with a new award named after him for best locally produced film. An accomplished actor/director and Ojai local, Paxton appeared in many films including The Terminator and Apollo 13. Paxton's son James will present the award, dubbed the Bill Paxton Award for Best Gold Coast Film, at the Awards Brunch on Sunday, November 3 in the Ojai Art Center courtyard. James Paxton, born and raised in Ojai, also works as an actor and producer.

Little Dragon returns with new single “Tongue Kissing” and the announcement of a massive 2020 European and North American tour. The new track is four minutes of glittering, off-kilter pop, which sees front-woman Yukimi Nagano muse on embracing life's challenges head-on. “The song is very much about taking brave steps,” explain the band. “Facing your own demons and tongue kissing with life in a way, not holding back but going all in with all that it entails, every moment in your face.” Listen to “Tongue Kissing” below!

 TODAY was the number-one morning show last week topping “Good Morning America” in the key demo A25-54 while expanding its lead versus the prior week. The win marks 197 out of 199 weeks in first place. TODAY also won in total viewers Friday, helping narrow the weekly gap with GMA by 32% versus last week. TODAY was the only morning program to grow its audience in total viewers and in the key demo versus GMA week to week.

Richmond based, experimental folk duo Lean Year, have confirmed a short run of performances that kick off October 28 with Angel Olsen in North Carolina and routes them through Brooklyn, Bloomington, Chicago and more. Comedy Central announced today a collaboration with All Things Comedy to produce a documentary about Patrice O'Neal. Set to begin filming this fall, the untitled documentary is a deep-dive portrait of O'Neal who passed away at 41 in 2011. The film, directed by Bonfiglio (Gary Gulman: The Great Depresh) will recount O'Neal's life story and explore the hilarious and controversial material he left behind. Utilizing a vast archive including never-before-seen personal materials and featuring O'Neal's family and friends, the film will include a who's who of comedy — the comics who knew, were influenced and were affected by O'Neal —  placing his work into the context of the time as well as today.
