Penfold Theatre Company and Round Rock Ballet Folklórico present Rosita y Conchita, a play for young audiences.
This beautiful piece is set on the Mexican holiday of Día de los Muertos, the day of remembrance of loved ones who have passed away. Conchita is a young girl whose twin sister, Rosita, has passed on. Conchita longs to connect with the memory of her sister. She journeys through sensory memories in an effort to recall her twin, but she struggles to feel her sister’s presence. Along the way, she encounters guides, from animals to musicians, who bridge the afterlife to help her look beyond the limits of her senses, into her heart.
Rosita y Conchita uses dance, folklore, and humor to convey the comforting message that our loved ones who have passed on stay with us in our hearts and memories.
Penfold Theatre Company (Penfold), in collaboration with Round Rock Ballet Folklórico, has announced the cast and creative team for Rosita y Conchita, a bilingual play for young audiences inspired by the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos.
