Lulu Goes to the Jim Henson Memorial Service is a staged reading by playwright Kleo James Ryan, presented as part of the 2026 Festival of New Texas Plays. The play blends heart, humor, grief, and puppetry, using the conceit that nearly everyone except Lulu's parents is a puppet to allow the audience to see the world through Lulu's imaginative perspective. The playwright will be in attendance with a talkback following the reading.
