Set in a vibrant, Black-owned beauty salon in 1980s Louisiana, this fresh take on the beloved classic tells the timeless story of friendship, resilience, and community. At Truvy’s salon, the hum of curling irons, the sizzle of hot combs, and the rich aroma of hair grease create a sensory experience that feels like home. Against this warm and lively backdrop, a colorful cast of women share their joys, sorrows, and everything in between, reminding us that sisterhood and strength go hand in hand.
