Jen MacQueen Choreographs KSU's CABARET 10/16-21

On October 16-21, Kennessaw State University presents Kander and Ebb's Tony Award-Winning Broadway classic, Cabaret. Performances are Tuesday-Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm at the Howard Logan Stillwell Theatre. This production features choreography by the Off-Broadway choreographer and acclaimed tap dancer Jen MacQueen, who recently choreographed both the new chamber version of Sweet Charity and the premiere of Clyde 'n' Bonnie the musical.
Atl Symphony Orchestra Ratifies Two-Year Contract

A two-year labor agreement between the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Players Association (ASOPA), the Atlanta Federation of Musicians, Local 148-462, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra management was announced today. This will allow the Orchestra's 2012-13 season to open as scheduled on Thursday, October 4, 2012, with Music Director Robert Spano and the renowned violinist Midori.

Join hero Prince Stefan as he sets out to rescue the princess Aurora, and her family's kingdom, asleep for almost one hundred years. Told from the prince's point of view, this adaptation of the much-loved fairy tale combines beautifully crafted marionettes with the timeless music from Tchaikovsky's ballet.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program (TDP) - which supports the musical development of young African-American and Latino students - was recently selected to participate in Atlanta's inaugural "Power2Give" campaign, a fundraising effort supported by the Arts & Science Council and the City of Atlanta's Office of Cultural Affairs that connects donors to creative projects that inspire them.

Now that New American Shakespeare Tavern has completed Shakespeare's entire canon, they're starting over by producing the plays in the order in which they were written. Last season the Tavern started with the comedies. The theatre will finish them in September 2012 and begin with the tragedies.

Playwright Donald Margulies' latest work about finding happiness in a world that seems to have gone crazy received a Tony nomination for Best Play in 2010. Time Stands Still is the fourth and final production of Horizon's 2012 season and runs tonight, September 14 - October 14.

Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company have announced the regional premiere of the Broadway hit The Mountaintop by Katori Hall directed by Jasmine Guy. This gripping re-imagining of the events the night before the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr will star Danny Johnson (What I Learned in Paris) as Dr. King, and Demetria McKinney (Tyler Perry's House of Payne) as Camae.
