ASO Principal Bassoon Carl Nitchie To Play Mozart Bassoon Concerto, 3/14-16

Guest conductor Jun Markl will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring ASO Principal Bassoon Carl Nitchie at center stage for Mozart's Bassoon Concerto in B-Flat Major. Also on the program is Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, "Pastorale," and Ravel's Le tombeau de Couperin. The performances will take place March 14-16, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Concertmaster David Coucheron To Perform Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, 3/7-10

Concertmaster David Coucheron will take center stage to perform Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with guest conductor Robert Abbado and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra March 7 and 9 at 8:00 p.m., and 10, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. Mr. Abbado will also lead the Orchestra in Schubert's Overture to Die Zauberharfe and the Atlanta Symphony premiere of Berio's Rendering - an inventive reimagining of Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony No. 10, which Schubert was working on at the time of his death. The program will also include Rossini's William Tell Overture.

Proceeds from the event will support the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and its education and community engagement programs.
