Atlanta's favourite two-day steampunk festival is returning in 2013. Sponsored in part by the City of Avondale Estates, Academy Theatre's own S.T.E.A.M.Fest is returning on May 4th and 5th. This year we are looking beyond Victorian England and America. This year will be a celebration of Mexican history and steampunk south of the border. It's not just high tea, it's high tequila!

This year will feature local music from Vauxhall Garden Variety Players, Guillermo Maduro & Company, and the talents of the Calo Gitano Dance Company, Stephanie "La Fani" Boulard, and Martha SidAhmed.

Thanks to the global phenomenon that steampunk has become, it has become common to see the steampunk aesthetic applied to the fashion, literature, and history of various cultures. At the core of the mission of the Academy Theatre is outreach and education and this S.T.E.A.M.Fest will reach out to the Mexican and Hispanic communities of Atlanta! Through theater, music, and cultural immersion, we'll create a splendid time that's guaranteed for all!
