Aurora Theatre to Host Third Annual Free Play Day, 3/14

Aurora Theatre will host Free PLAY Day, a one-day FREE acting workshop as part of their community outreach through the Aurora Theatre Academy on Saturday, March 14 from 11:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. During the day, students will be introduced to improvisation, team building and acting technique through various theatre games and exercises, as well as receive complimentary lunch generously provided by Aurora's Volunteer Guild. Free PLAY Day is open to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. In an effort to thank the community, Free PLAY Day is a way for both the theatre and artists to give back, especially to those who may not have access or means for experiences like this.

This spring, Atlanta Ballet will present the world premiere of a ballet based on "Camino Real" by Tennessee Williams, the renowned playwright who authored such American classics as "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Choreographed by Atlanta Ballet choreographer in residence Helen Pickett, Williams' "lost classic" of love, redemption and courage will debut March 20-22 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Stage Door Players' ROUNDING THIRD Opens 3/20

STAGE DOOR PLAYERS will present Rounding Third, by Richard Dresser, directed by James Donadio. The show opens on Friday, March 20, 8pm curtain, and runs through April 12. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm EXCEPT there will be no Sunday Matinee on Easter Sunday, April 5. Single tickets are on sale now at the box office ?(770-396-1726), or online at www.stagedoorplayers.net. Tickets are $30; senior, student, and youth discounts are available. Stage Door Players is located at 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338, approximately one block south of the Mt. If crowd appeal is any indication of a show's worth, Wicked is a multimillion-dollar treasure. WICKED's second national tour, 'The Munchkinland Tour,' flew into the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, February 18 to play a 3-week engagement, marking the show's fourth engagement at the historic Atlanta venue. Not surprisingly, this production did not disappoint.

Atlanta Fringe Festival to Celebrate 2015 Lineup with Fun Size Fringe

The Atlanta Fringe Festival, having just announced the lineup for their 4th annual festival, is ready to party! In celebration of their 2015 lineup, the ATL Fringe will take over Mary's in East Atlanta Village with drink specials, raffle prizes, banging music and live performances by just a handful of the artists being showcased at this year's festival in June. As with the festival itself, the performances will run an eclectic gamut from modern dance to rap to sketch comedy and a few points in between. It all goes down Thursday, February 26 at 7PM, with $10 suggestion donation and a portion of the bar proceeds supporting the festival's production costs.
