WATER BY THE SPOONFUL Among Three Atlanta Premieres Set for Pinch 'n' Ouch Theatre

Pinch 'n' Ouch Theatre has announced three Atlanta premieres, including Pulitzer Prize Winner Quiara Alegría Hudes' "Water By The Spoonful," Annie Baker's Obie Award winning comedy "The Aliens," and "A Behanding in Spokane" by Martin McDonagh, a dark comedy in which Christopher Walken received his Tony Award nomination.
Grant McGowen, the company's Producing Artistic Director, has most recently secured a new home for the vibrant young company near Candler Park in Atlanta. He hopes the neighborhood will embrace the cutting edge plays that Pinch 'n' Ouch Theatre has to offer.5/28 - 6/20: "Water By The Spoonful" In Quiara Alegría Hudes' ("In the Heights") Pulitzer Prize winning drama "Water By The Spoonful," Elliot has returned from Iraq and is struggling to find his place in the world. Somewhere in a chat room, recovering addicts keep each other alive, hour by hour, day by day. The boundaries of family and community are stretched across continents and cyberspace as birth families splinter and online families collide. Like Hudes, she is also in her thirties and has already won a Pulitzer Prize for her writing ("The Flick"). "The Aliens" which won the Obie Award for Best New American Play is about two hipsters that sit behind a Vermont coffee shop and discuss music and Bukowski. When a painfully awkward teenager arrives on the scene, they decide to teach him everything they know.
