Video: First Look at NEXT TO NORMAL at Denver Center for the Performing Arts
The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical runs April 3 through May 3, 2026 at the Wolf Theatre.
Denver Center for the Performing Arts has released first look footage of NEXT TO NORMAL, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical now playing through May 3, 2026 at the Wolf Theatre.
With music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, the three-time Tony winner follows Diana Goodman, whose perfect suburban life masks a family on the verge of collapse as they navigate mental illness, loss, and unconditional love. Propelled by an unforgettable pop-rock score, the Washington Post called it "more than exceptional."
Directed by Nancy Keystone with music direction by Jacob Carll, the cast features Aléna Watters as Diana Goodman, James D. Sasser as Dan Goodman, Ethan Peterson as Gabe Goodman, Angélica Concepción as Natalie Goodman, Aidan Joyce as Henry, and Randy Guiaya as Dr. Fine/Dr. Madden.
The creative team includes Klara Zieglerova (scenic design), Meghan Anderson Doyle (costumes), Paul Whitaker (lighting), and Elisabeth Weidner (sound), with Jada Dixon serving as intimacy director.
NEXT TO NORMAL runs approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes with one 15-minute intermission and is recommended for audiences 14 and up. Post-show talkbacks are scheduled for April 23 and 29, and an ASL-interpreted, audio-described, and open-captioned performance takes place April 19.
