The 2011 Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market ran on Sunday, September 25th from 10 AM - 7 PM, and for the first time, extended into Times Square. More than 60 celebrities appeared at the always popular Autograph Table and Photo Booth. Each hour beginning at 11 AM a New Group of celebrities took their places on the deck of Junior's Restaurant near the Flea Market. In exchange for donations to Broadway Cares, fans got autographs and pictures with Broadway and television stars. For more photos from the festivities, click here.

The on stage premiere of NEWSIES just opened on September 25, at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey. The musical is based on the 1899 true story of a courageous group of scrappy newsboys who become unlikely heroes when they rally forces to fight an unscrupulous newspaper tycoon. "NEWSIES" features a book by Harvey Fierstein, lyrics by Jack Feldman and music by Alan Menken. Based on the Disney film written by Bob Tzudiker and Noni White. It is directed by Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli. Click here for full coverage of the big opening!

MCC Theater's production of Jeff Talbott's THE SUBMISSION opened this week at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The production features Jonathan Groff, Will Rogers, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Rutina Wesley. SUBMISSION is directed by Tony Award-Winner Walter Bobbie (School for Lies, Chicago). Click here for full coverage from the opening!

Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific), GODSPELL begins preview performances at Circle in the Square Theatre on Thursday, October 13, 2011. This summer, BroadwayWorld.com introduced it's first, exclusive, fully scripted program series - SUBMISSIONS ONLY, created, written, and directed by Kate Wetherhead and Andrew Keenan-Bolger. The pair also stars in the series, which enjoyed an extremely successful Season 1 on YouTube and was streamed throughout the summer on BroadwayWorld.com in anticipation of SUBMISSIONS ONLY's second season, which just premiered to the public this afternoon. The cast celebrated the launch of the second season this week, and you can check out more photos from the festivities here.

Second Stage Theatre presents the new musical THE BLUE FLOWER written by Jim Bauer and Ruth Bauer, with choreography by Chase Brock and direction by Will Pomerantz, this fall. Starring Sebastian Arcelus, Marc Kudisch, Teal Wicks, and Meghan McGeary, previews will begin on Wednesday, October 12 and officially open on Wednesday, November 9 at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre. Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway premiere of VENUS IN FUR, the acclaimed new play by David Ives, directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie stars Tony nominee Nina Arianda reprising her acclaimed breakthrough performance and Emmy Award nominee Hugh Dancy (Journey's End, "The Big C"). VENUS IN FUR will begin previews on Thursday, October 13 and open Tuesday, November 8 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Roundabout Theatre Company's Anything Goes celebrated their new cast album with an in-store performance and CD signing this week, September 27th. Director Kathleen Marshall and stars Sutton Foster, Joel Grey, Colin Donnell, Adam Godley and Laura Osnes performed classics from the show and greeted fans. Anything Goes will now play through Sunday, April 29th, 2012 on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. Check out more from the event here.

This week on GLEE, the New Directions auditioned for the school musical, Kurt got some campaign help from Brittany, and Quinn got a nasty but needed wake-up call. Next week on FOX's hit show, the auditions for WEST SIDE STORY get heated, Brittany runs for class president, and Mr. Schuester takes on Coldplay's "Fix You." Beginning performances on Tuesday, September 27 Jackie Burns and Chandra Lee Schwartz assumed the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, in the Broadway cast of Wicked. Ms. Burns and Ms. Schwartz come to Broadway directly from Wicked's First National Tour. The Broadway company currently features Richard H. Blake as Fiyero, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, Tom McGowan as The Wizard, Etai BenShlomo as Boq, Cristy Candler as Nessarose, and Tom Flynn as Dr. Dillamond. In SEMINAR, four aspiring young novelists (Ms. Rabe, Mr. Linklater, Mr. O'Connell and Ms. Park) sign up for private writing classes with Leonard (Mr. Rickman), an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, sex is used as a weapon and hearts are unmoored. Previews will begin on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at The Golden Theatre, and the cast of the show met the press Wednesday, September 28. Click here for full coverage from the event!

Private Lives, the highly anticipated pre-Broadway production of Noel Coward's play, began previews on Friday and has its official opening in Toronto on September 25th. Starring Kim Cattrall as Amanda (fresh off her run in the same role on the West End) and Canadian favourite Paul Gross as Elyot, this new production will have a limited run in Toronto before opening on Broadway November 17th at the Music Box Theatre.
