Sun King Brewery Announces Seasonal Beer to Celebrate Opening of BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL

Broadway in Indianapolis and Sun King Brewery announce the creation of Feel the Earth, a Sun King seasonal beer to celebrate the upcoming engagement of BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical in Indianapolis! Feel the Earth will be available at both Sun King Tap Room locations beginning January 19, and will be available at Clowes Hall January 30-February 4 before and during all 8 performances.

Feel the Earth is a rich, luscious brown porter with a melodic, spicy complexity from the rye used in the brewing process.

In partnership with WFYI, Broadway in Indianapolis and Sun King Brewery, the "From Bar to Star" contest will be held at the Sun King Fishers Tap Room and Small Batch Brewery (7848 E 96th Street) on Thursday, January 18 from 5-8 pm in conjunction with the tapping of Feel the Earth. Six local singer song-writers will take the stage to compete to win tickets to see BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical at Clowes Hall, an opportunity to perform in the lobby before the opening performance, and a Small Studio session on WFYI-FM.

Feel the Earth is the seventh brew created for a touring Broadway in Indianapolis production. The partnership's inaugural Million Dollar Brewski was created in 2011 for the engagement of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. In 2013, American Idiot IPA was crafted to celebrate the raucous, in-your-face production of AMERICAN IDIOT. 2014's Cara Mia was the dark and sexy brew made exclusively for THE ADDAMS FAMILY. ALAKAZAM was the blonde stout that mystifying taste buds in honor of the magical spectacular, THE ILLUSIONISTS in 2015. Guy Meets Girl was a delicate balance of Czech and Irish influences that came together in 2016 to convey the complicated raw emotion of ONCE. And the most recent collaboration, Heart and Sole, was uniquely choreographed for the performance of KINKY BOOTS.

Long before she was Carole King, chart-topping music legend, she was Carol Klein, Brooklyn girl with passion and chutzpah. She fought her way into the record business as a teenager and, by the time she reached her twenties, had the husband of her dreams and a flourishing career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock 'n' roll. But it wasn't until her personal life began to crack that she finally managed to find her true voice. BEAUTIFUL tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation. BEAUTIFUL features a stunning array of beloved songs written by Gerry Goffin/Carole King and Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil, including "I Feel The Earth Move," "One Fine Day," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," "You've Got A Friend" and the title song.
