"Under founder Arielle Tepper and Artistic Director Rachel Neuburger, the overall plan and goals of the Festival remain the same-- to give emerging writers, directors, producers an opportunity to work on their material and their craft in a protected environment, guided by established professionals at no cost to them.  There are NO submission or entrance fees.  SPF provides artists with a budget for their production as well as any required assistance they may need.  SPF provides guidance and advice with everything from finding a director to casting to technical consultation, as needed," according to press notes.

"Each production gets a two-week rehearsal period and one-week of performances.  SPF also provides industry outreach so that all producers receive information about all of the shows and have easy access to tickets as well as meetings with creative teams of shows.  In addition, at no point will SPF control future rights or be subsidiary participants in order to allow more opportunities for future productions.
