SculptureCenter welcomes the NY Art Book Fair, presented by Printed Matter, Inc. Saturday, November 6, 2010, 7:00-9:00 PM

Please join us Saturday, November 6, 2010, 7-9 p.m. for a party in celebration of the NY Art Book Fair, featuring a performance by artist Lara Schnitger.

A Dutch born, Los Angeles-based artist, Schnitger will perform within her installation, Two Masters and Her Vile Perfume, which is on view now at SculptureCenter through November 29. Her installation and performance both draw inspiration from Charles Baudelaire's poem, Damned Women, a work about sexual intransigence, despair, lesbian passion, and social banishment. Schnitger's performance will take the form of a rock song, with music by Scott Martin. Admission is free.

The NY Art Book Fair, presented by Printed Matter, Inc. will take place November 5-7, 2010 at MoMA PS1, with a preview Thursday, Nov. 4 from 6-9 p.m. The Fair will feature more than 280 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, museums, galleries, and artists from twenty-four countries, exhibiting the very best of contemporary art publishing.

Presented with support from the Dutch Consulate, in celebration of the Netherlands, this year's NY Art Book Fair featured country.
