Photos: Hugh Panaro Returns To 54 Below With MAN WITHOUT A MASK
The incomparable Broadway and symphony star left his opening night audience breathless.
In 2022, I had the honor to review Hugh Panaro's New York City solo show debut. It was an extraordinary night of cabaret (read the review HERE), but I haven't been back to see the gentleman since, so I asked editor Rebecca Kaplan if I could grab the gig this season but I was too late. BroadwayWorld Cabaret correspondent Stephen Sorokoff had already been assigned MAN WITHOUT A MASK. However, Rebecca pointed out, a photo flash would be most welcome, if I wanted to grab my camera but leave my pad and pencil at home. I didn't have to be asked twice, so I showed up at 54 Below last night, camera in hand and eyeglasses on nose, and, boy howdy, am I glad I did. I can't wait to read Stephen's review because Hugh Panaro is next level when it comes to music and entertaining, and I know Mr. Sorokoff will do him proud. It was an absolutely perfect night of cabaret, with four more performances this weekend and next (April 24, 25, 30 and May 1).
