GEORGE M! Celebration at 54 Below To Be Directed by Lawrence Leritz
Dancers Over 40 will present the event featuring original cast members Janie Sell, Jill O'Hara, and more.
Broadway's Lawrence Leritz (Fiddler On The Roof, Fonteyn & Nureyev On Broadway) will direct the 54 Below George M! celebration, July 4-5, 2026. Off-Broadway, Lawrence produced & choreographed the critically praised and long running hit, Boobs! The Musical, for which he garnered a MAC Award nomination.
The evening features songs and reminiscences from the 1968 Broadway musical. It will be an unforgettable celebration of some well-known and some not so well-known George M. Cohan songs from the show ("Popularity," "Yankee Doodle Dandy," "Over There," "Give my Regards to Broadway") produced by Dancers Over 40 and performed by original cast members, many of whom are current Dancers Over 40 members, with other cast members to be announced. What better way to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the USA than by joining in a rousing chorus of "You're a Grand Old Flag"?
The event is produced by John Sefakis, with music direction by Fred Barton.
