GEORGE M! Celebration at 54 Below To Be Directed by Lawrence Leritz

Broadway's Lawrence Leritz (Fiddler On The Roof, Fonteyn & Nureyev On Broadway) will direct the 54 Below George M! celebration, July 4-5, 2026. Off-Broadway, Lawrence produced & choreographed the critically praised and long running hit, Boobs! The Musical, for which he garnered a MAC Award nomination.

The evening features songs and reminiscences from the 1968 Broadway musical. It will be an unforgettable celebration of some well-known and some not so well-known George M. Cohan songs from the show ("Popularity," "Yankee Doodle Dandy," "Over There," "Give my Regards to Broadway") produced by Dancers Over 40 and performed by original cast members, many of whom are current Dancers Over 40 members, with other cast members to be announced. What better way to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the USA than by joining in a rousing chorus of "You're a Grand Old Flag"?

The event is produced by John Sefakis, with music direction by Fred Barton. From the Original Broadway Cast: Loni Ackerman (Evita, So Long, 174th Street, Cats, No, No, Nanette, The Magic Show), Tony nominee Jonelle Allen (Finian's Rainbow, The Wisteria Trees, Two Gentlemen of Verona), Karin Baker (42nd Street, Coco, Me and My Girl, Goodtime Charley), James Dybas (42nd Street, Pacific Overtures, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Sunset Boulevard, Via Galactica), Patti Mariano (The Music Man, Bye, Bye Birdie, Godspell, Rags, The Full Monty, 42nd Street),  Tony nominee Jill O'Hara (Promises, Promises, Hair original off-Broadway cast), Tony Award winner Janie Sell (Over Here, Pal Joey, Irene, Dames at Sea), Ron Young (A Chorus Line, Mame, Hello, Dolly!, Annie).
