Marissa Jaret Winokur is keeping herself busy these days! As already reported, Winokur will be producing and starring in the motion picture "Always a Bridesmaid" which was picked up by New Line Cinema. Marissa told BroadwayWorld.com

"I am so excited to be working with New Line Cinema on my first big movie project. It's a true testament to their loyalty and faith in me. I love their 'hands on' approach to Hairsrpay and look forward to working with them on 'Always a Bridesmaid!'"

When asked about her TV show, "The Furst Family," Marissa excitedly said "ABC has put together the most incredible cast. I couldn't be happier with this amazing project and can't wait to shoot on May 3rd."

And if that weren't enough on her plate, Marissa will be welcomed back to the 60s when she takes over the role of Tracy Turnblad (in which she won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical). Winokur will sport her massive "do" from July 20th - September 5th at the Pantages Theatre opposite Bruce Vilanch who is currently on tour as Edna Turnblad. So how does Marissa feel about returning to Hairspray? "When I left Hairspray in August of 2003, I knew I had to do it again. I am so happy that LA worked out because I wasn't done with Tracy Turnblad...actually I don't think I'll ever be done with Tracy Turnblad."
