JOHN & JEN Full Cast Announced At Berkshire Theatre Group
Production will run at The Unicorn Theatre in Pittsfield.
Berkshire Theatre Group has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of John & Jen, which will run May 20 through June 7 on the Larry Vaber Stage at The Unicorn Theatre in Pittsfield.
Directed by Gregg Edelman, the production will feature Samantha Gershman as Jen and Jake Bentley Young as John. Music direction is by Nicolas Perez.
JOHN & JEN follows the evolving relationship between siblings and later between a mother and her son across three decades. The musical traces Jen’s memories of her younger brother John and explores how those experiences shape her adulthood and her own journey as a parent. The story incorporates themes of family, loss, and connection, with recurring imagery such as a baseball glove serving as a symbol of memory and devotion.
Edelman, a Tony Award nominee, has previously directed productions of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas and Once at Berkshire Theatre Group, and appeared in Metamorphoses. His Broadway credits include City of Angels, Les Misérables, Into the Woods, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, and Water for Elephants.
Nicolas Perez currently serves on the music team for Broadway’s Buena Vista Social Club and will music direct its upcoming First National Tour. His previous work includes serving as music supervisor and principal accompanist for the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and touring as music director for Franc D’Ambrosio.
Previews for JOHN & JEN will take place May 20 and 21 at 7 p.m., with opening night set for May 22 at 7 p.m. The production will close June 7 at 2 p.m.
